A question about uploading custom designs to the switch

I've only done this once or twice so I'm not super familiar with it. Do you have to have two devices to be able to do this? If I have a photo on my phone I want to use is there no way to do it with just my phone? It seems really dumb to need to devices especially cause a lot of people only have a phone. i am talking about turning something into a qr code to use as a custom design in game

I will try to make sense of this. The only way to upload photos from your switch to online is to have a Twitter account linked up to it. Once thats done I uploaded the photo from my switch on Twitter, then I go onto my computer and right click on the photo "Save as Image" and then I am able to post the photo to wherever it needs to go just by going to documents on the computer and click the photo that I saved from Twitter.

i guess i wasnt clear i meany uploading to the switch not from it. i have a photo my phone i want to use as a custome design but from what i can tell i cant do it with my phone alone. i have to have it on another device, use a site to turn it into a qr code, open the nintendo online app with my phone and take a pic of the qr code in the custom design app in the nooklink. then open download it ingame to my custom design page. it just makes no sense that u cant do it with one device. not everyone has a phone and a computer/tablet.

I think I remember doing that back 2020 with the Custom Design QR Code and I was able to get some of the designs from the PC on the Internet and I was able to download it into the game through the nookphone. Its been a while since I've done that.
