Hi.
You'll see, is there any way to make a villager stop wearing a shirt?

The other Octavian start wearing a shirt that i just don't like how it looks on him. Don't know how he got him, so i was wondering if there is a way to make him stop wearing it.

Thanks in advance for your time.

You just have to talk to Isabelle at Resident Services. Tell her you have a problem with a villager, choose Octavian, and say you don’t like what he is wearing. He will change his clothes afterwards.

This will work anytime a villager is wearing something you don’t want them to wear.

Sadly not.
You can tell Isabelle he's wearing something bad and he will take it off.
But you have to do this every time he wears it as it will not be removed from his wardrobe.

So its just a temporary fix.
I really wish you could take gifted clothes away from villagers.
I've had to let villagers leave before because of this.

I'll try that, thank you!

Oh no... Temporary, really??? Oh well...

Thank you so much for the answer.

My bf accidentally gave Pietro his pirate crown from Gulliver. Pietro immediately put it on and went off, literally singing! He then displayed it in his house, as if to mock my bf for his mistake. If my bf touched it, Pietro would either tell him off or start boasting about it. He tried everything to get that crown back, regularly gifting hats in the hope of getting a swap even haha. In the end I just gave him my crown to shut him up.

I suppose I do still groan when I see Shari walking around the town in a massive kiwi hat that I guess I gifted her last year, since she was my starter villager.

If you give the villager clothes you like for them to wear, eventually, it will force the shirt you don't like out of their inventory. I believe the number of shirts a villager can have in their storage is 24. You can gift them the same shirt 24 times if you want them to wear just the one shirt. I've "fixed" at least two or three villagers who got a shirt I didn't like by gifting them the same shirt I did like 24 times. They might display one of them in their house, but I think that's a fine tradeoff to get rid of the unwanted shirt.

If it is a custom shirt, it will be removed completed. I did that with Julia.

If it is an actual shirt that you can receive from events and shops, it will be just switched out and may come back. I have experienced this with Aurora until I switched her out completely with Amiibo.

This is such a great trick. Thank you so much!
