A second switch?

Since Nintendo unfortunately probably won?t ever make it to where you can have multiple islands will anyone be buying a second switch to have 2 islands?

I know for new leaf I bought five copies to have five towns lol and would like multiple islands...I can?t justify it to myself to get multiple switches lol.

Unless someone gives me one for free or my bf gets one for himself for whatever reason i am fine with my one island and switch lol

I've got the Pikachu/Eevee switch and my boyfriend has the classic gray one. If they release an Animal Crossing themed Switch I'll be buying that, he'll take the Pikachu/Eevee, and then he wants to hack the gray one to mess around on. I might use the gray one (no hacking) to make a second island if I feel the need to.

No, I think I’ll be too invested in my village to want to create a new one. Plus I can always wipe it if someone unruly moves in and I start talking to a volleyball.

I wouldnt get a second switch for a second island. however, I am considering getting a newer switch as every controller I have bought has got joycon glitch, including the 2 wired controllers I have bought. The newest switches are meant to have fixed the issue, so as soon as I can I will probably replace my switch

No I'd never. That's too much money just for a second island. I don't have the time to tend to two islands nowadays anyway. I rhought I had time so I bought two copies of NL only to find that I barely had time to play the one town. RIP.

Yes I have a 2nd switch for ACNH, Pokemon trading and Farm Together.

Got the 2nd Switch using my Bank Points. Traded the bank points for Amazon Gift cards. At the time the bank gave an extra amazon gift card for every 100 points.

It took 3 hours to trade 10 Pokemon from Let's Go with online players. The 2nd time it took longer. Nintendo made it harder with no GTS trading.

When I used the 2nd Switch it took less time to trade the whole dex and send them back.

Sadly, this isn't possible (at least at the moment) as we still have to share the island regardless of which profile we pick.

Buying a second switch seems so so SO unneeded. I mean, we have two others in the house- my dad has his own and so does my brother, so like... I could be a little thief child.

That being said I don't expect myself wanting a second time, especially not anytime quickly. I only got my second NL town because there is barely anything left to do in the first that I wouldn't have to wait a billion years for. On top'a that, I don't plan on abandoning NL the moment that NH comes out- so I'll pass on that second Switch.

(also im baby with no job and money doesnt grow on trees)

This. I personally think this is dumb and makes no sense.

I am very glad none of the people I will be playing with on my Switch were set on having their own island :|

I'm sticking with one switch. I've had multiple towns in AC:NL but it kinda sucked the fun out of it for me anyway, I guess I like to focus on one thing at a time.

How confirmed is this? Every profile could potentially get their own main character, and 3 standard characters.

I never had the desire for multiple towns. I want to focus on one and make it my own. If I had two towns, I wouldn't be into either of them wholeheartedly.

I'm a middle school teacher, and bought a Switch for my classroom a couple years ago. I use it to host SSB and Mario Kart tournaments. I also have a Switch at home. I guess I could technically have two villages, but that seems like a lot of work.

If I bought the cartridge, would I be able to move it between systems and have two towns, or will I need two copies of the game for that?

I personally don't get the "feature" of having the other profiles join the same island. I will have to make a new profile to have a second house on the island and that one then needs their own Nintendo Online to play online? Bit of weird call on their part. It wouldn't be about technical restriction either; this is just a weird decision they made (at least IF this is the case, Im not 100% sure if it is confirmed that this is the only way to get multiple chars on one island, but it sounds like a thing they would do honestly).

Anyway, the price of a new Switch for a new island is of course way too much. The only way I can imagine ever doing this, is if they released a superior model of the Switch, like a pro version (which has been rumoured). But otherwise, no thanks.
