According to Blathers, a snail is an insect!

Last i checked, a snail was a mollusk... ya know, like clams, oysters.... ya know, just like the definition of a mollusk is an invertebrate having a soft unsegmented body usually enclosed in a shell...

Then again, Blathers also calls a tarantula and a scorpion a bug, and they are arachnid's....

Someone needs to bop whoever called them bugs on the head... next thing you know, Nintendo will be saying that a turtle is an amphibian!

I'm sure they intended on adding that tidbit during what Blathers says when you hand it to him. But I think they couldnt pass up what they do say when you hand him a snail. It is a great line. A little morbid in a way.

I've never donated either a scorpion or tarantula so I couldnt tell you what he says exactly for either.

Correct me if im wrong.. o_O
Turtles are reptiles.
But.. I thought they were! Since when were they reptiles?
No. A turtle's skin is made up of scales. Turtles also lay their eggs, which have a hard shell, on land. These 2 facts alone show that a Turtle is a reptile.

Amphibian's have moist skin and no claws on their toes. And they must lay their eggs in water. So they hatch and you see tadpoles? That is a huge indication that something might be an amphibian.

Ya know, i thought it was one in a thousand that someone would consider a turtle to be an amphibian... but i managed to cross four people in my lifetime that made that very mistake... and your the fourth.

Yes, a turtle is a reptile.

Characteristics of a reptile is a cold-blooded animal with scales for skin. Their eggs are hard, and able to take on the environment without an incubation period, or the need for water to sustain life. This list includes alligators, snakes, lizards, and turtles.

Amphibians on the other hand, are also cold-blooded, but their skin are slick, and not very good for protecting them (its why most amphibians don't have jaws or claws, but [most] have poison embedded in their bodies as their own protection). Amphibians need to be near, or live in a water supply to stay alive because of their sensitive and vulnerable skin. Their eggs must be placed in water to sustain life (hidden in willows), or they will dry out. Most offspring of amphibians spend the first part of their life in water. This list includes salamanders, newts, frogs, and caecilian's.

id idnt donate those two either, i just know they are in the game from youtube clips. They chase you if you have the net out.

I've been chased by them. But i've never donated it and seen what Blathers said. But I know that the snail is awesome. Would assume that if they dont mention that scorpions and tarantula's aren't insects, it would be for the same reason.

meh, you beat me by (supposedly) a minute, but considering im a girl and know my share of animals, i had a bit more info then ya :p LOL!

lol because if I dont get out what I want to say quickly I forget it. My punishment for getting old.

P.s. Please do not confuse a worm with a caecilian. Worms can live away from water sources, and a caecilian can not. Thank you.

lol I hear that. I am starting to go bald, i grunt when I sit and stand. I'm going to bed before 11pm and am up by 6:30am. I am always mentioning "them darn kids." I sit and look back and am wondering what happened to the last 10 years

i do that too, what a coincidence! That includes the grunting and all... because im 24 weeks preggo XD

Im not going bald per-say but my hubby is, does that count? XD

lol yes I think it might. I look at pictures of myself of when I'm 18. And then pictures that are more recent. You notice big time the hairline. But in the last 2 years I've been developing a huge bald spot on the top back of my head. I keep it as short as possible so its hard to notice. But everyone says something about it all the time. Drives me nuts.

im wondering what exactly causes genes to do that... i should look into that this summer since i got a lot of time on my hands until the baby's born.
