The Journaling sounds so cool and fun and I am interested. Sounds like it could be (if done right) a stress reliever because it is an artistic activity. NH will be my first AC game.

  • How many pages did you guys use for your last AC journal?
  • And did you end up buying an additional journal if you did fill the pages?
  • Anyone care to show/describe what a page in yours may include?

If I decide to do it, I will only be using a pencil. I am afraid of turning it into a chore or making it too complicated as that is what happened to a different journaling project I have attempted which is, sad... lol.

Inspiration shares are welcomed too.

I didn’t have a journal for New leaf but I got one for Horizons. With new leaf I was leaving little sticky or torn paper notes all over the place. I kept losing and having to rewrite them. I kept finding them months later in my purse, drawers, under my bed, etc. So I’m trying to be more organized now with a journal.

Usually I just jot down villagers I want, their house exterior shapes. Map ideas, player names, etc. things I’m not ready to have at the moment but I want for the future and don’t want to forget later on.

I never had a journal either. For anything, but I got one today and I think it is a cute idea.

I never had a journal for New Leaf. I did have a post-it note with all the villagers I had in my very first New Leaf town and I kept all the going away letters from the villagers who left.

I like journaling in general, so I was planning on doing it. Just to keep stats because it seemed fun.

I didn't have one for NL, but here's what I'm planning on putting in the one I'm using for New Horizions:
Monthly calender with all birthday/monthly events
A dedicted page for each villager
Pages for tracking what's being donated to the museum, nook miles and what they're spent on, and whatver debt I owe in the game
Pages to track when things like PWP's/buildings get put in my town
Whenever an event like christmas or a tourney happens that'll get a whole page too.

I'm just using a cute notebook I've had for a while, but I can already tell I'm going to need another notebook eventually. I'm still deciding if I want to do montly or weekly updates to pages.

I didn't journal for nl very much but you could probably get away with doing half a page/day depending on how much info you plan on putting on each entry. For instance do you want to have a few set pages dedicated to listing each bug/fossil/fish and then put the day you donated/caught it next to it or would you rather put with each day what you donated. (i.e. having a small list on the page that lists "donations")
There are a lot of ways to go about having a journal for ac and each way takes up a different amount of space c:
I didn't end up finishing my journal because i lost track of it honestly. Have a lot going on in my life to take time to draw and create cute entries every day o:

My pages would always vary depending on what i did that day but for the most part I had
The date, Donations, landscaping progress, any new villagers, any special events that happened, my primary focus of the day, if i changed my house or appearance (including side characters), goals i needed to meet/their progress, and any cute dialogue i had with the villagers that made me smile.

edit; at one point i also created a tumblr for one of my towns specifically to create a story-like journal where i made it into a story book sort of thing instead of a journal entry. that was fun c: deleted it years ago though

I kept my journal as a file on my computer. It wasn't a physical journal. I'm thinking about doing a physical journal this time though. I have a spare journal sitting around.

I had one in New Leaf for a brief time. I mostly used it to write down things like a check list of who I talked to for a lost item. I also wrote down who I traded with (on reddit) so I could go back and reference them later.
I wish I had done more colorful or artistic things with it though and I plan to do a lot more this time around. I actually want to draw at least one picture per entry.
For those less artistically inclined, there is a cute sticker book that you can use. I also bought a pack of colored pens that don't bleed and they are adorable. I plan to upload my journal entries for fun (maybe put them in my blog)

I've owned all the previous games (minus City Folk), and have never picked up journaling for any of them. At one point, I tried doing a roleplay journal/diary for Wild World, but stopped after a few days.

I bought a new bullet journal just recently to try journaling for New Horizons. I'm not very artistic or creative, so I'm following a basic bullet journal guide. I'll just keep track of progress, events, tasks, and notes like one would do for real life.

i didn’t have a journal for new leaf but i’m planning one for new horizons!! the pages will mainly consist of villagers that come and go, dates of when i unlocked things and a summary of what happened each day aha

Didn't have a New Leaf one! Would have loved to go through it and reminisce if I did. But that's why I'm using one for New Horizons. :)

It actually hadn't occurred to me before to keep a Journal of my Animal Crossing games. I think I'll probably start a digital one for New Horizons since it seems like a fun added layer to the gameplay and will help me remember past events of my town if i stop playing for a bit at some point. Also it will be also fun to track the pattern of villagers coming and going.

I've loved keeping bullet journals in the past, so keeping one for New Horizons sounds so enticing! After thinking about some pages I may do, I came up with a few ideas. On sort-of the introduction page, I'm going to draw the boarding pass and put in the information for it too. I may leave out my profile picture until release day because I'm still not sure how I'm going to customize myself yet. I think it's be fun to jot down some crafting recipes? Sounds like a lot of work but I honestly love the idea. I'm also planning on drawing the map (waiting until release day...again!) so that I can landscape and such. For daily entries, I plan on doing a checklist sort of thing for activities like watering flowers, daily tasks. I really want to do an encyclopedia part in the journal too! Good luck journaling!

I'm gonna merge them with my regular journal~. No point buying more paper! Also, I'm normally lazy and don't bother, and it puts stress on me. I think I'm better without one and I will write in it when I feel like it.
