ACNH islands across consoles

I want to get a second profile on my island using my switch lite. However, I made an existing island on my switch lite with the same profile as my main island on my main switch. If I delete this island, will my main island get deleted as well? (also I can't seem to get a second person on my main island can you help me with that?)

Are You Saying That You Have 2 Switches With The Same Profiles With The Same Data on each one. And Your Scared If You Delete One It will delete The Other? Is This Correct?

Actually, the two switches have different data, but the islands are on the same profile. If I delete the one on the switch lite (the one I DON'T want) will I delete my main island i put all my time into

It should not. Each island should be specific to each switch. So deleting the save data on one island shouldn’t effect the other.

but it looks like part of the reason you want to delete your island on the switch lite might be to have a second profile on your main island? If that is what you are asking, that is not possible. You can make a second profile on your main switch to have additional playable characters for the island on that switch, but the islands are locked to the switch and a separate device cannot play on the same island.

When I try to make a new account on my switch and try to play ACNH, the software does not allow me to play as I need to buy it again(?). Even if I did buy it again, I'd need to link a second Nintendo account.

Ok, so your island counts for your console, not your profile, thus if you had 30 switch's with a synced up profile, you would have 30 islands, not one island
