Yesterday’s problem was on Part 3 of the story, which finished the story of how they built their towns. Today’s entry is about what aspect each player is good at. Notice that there is at least one aspect that each player stands above all in, and one aspect that they are behind in. Remember, solving the problem is how to find the answer.

For your information, here’s what each rank means:

  • Town Rank - a rating from best to worst based on how they designed their town. This is based on their selection of PWPs, placement of PWPs, decoration of certain areas, and environment scores (from in-game). The better they did in these fields, the higher the Town Rank.
  • House Rank - a rating from best to worst based on how they designed every house in town. This is based on how many debts they paid, what their HHA scores are, and how nicely decorated each house is if they entered a fan interior design contest. The better they did in these fields, the higher the House Rank.
  • Shopping Rank - a rating from best to worst based on shopping stats. A higher rank means they completed more of the catalog, spent more Bells in shopping on Main Street, and opened more shops on Main Street (not to mention, but also have greater Nookling Shop expansions). A lower rank means the opposite of that.
  • Money Rank - a rating from best to worst based on how good they are at money making and management. A higher rank means they made more money from the Stalk Market, captured more rare fish and insects for sale, saved more Bells in their ABD, and holds more money. A lower rank means the opposite of that.
  • Museum Rank - a rating from best to worst based on how many donations they made. A higher rank means they completed more of the Museum and had better exhibit designs in the upper floor in the Museum, while a lower rank means the opposite. If they completed their Museum donations 100%, they are automatically 1st place.

Part 4: Town Progress

Other than the old and new features in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the group of five friends are skilled in different aspects of the game (town design, house design, shopping statistics, money statistics, ans museum statistics). Everyone has a strength nobody else has, ans everybody has a weakness nobody has. From the information provided, can you find out what ranks from each aspect every player has?

  • Town Rank
    • 1
    • 2
    • 3
    • 4
    • 5
  • House Rank
    • 1

  • Money Rank
    • 1

    • 5
  • Museum Rank

    • 3

Clues:

  1. No two players have the same rank in two or more aspects.
  2. The best player in town design is the worst at making money. The best player in Museum donations is the second best at making money.
  3. The best player in house design is the worst player in town design.
  4. The best player in shopping statistics didn’t contribute very much to Museum donations and town design, as he/she is in 4th place and 5th place in those aspects in some order.
  5. The best player in making money did very little in shopping statistics and house design, as he/she is in 4th place and 5th place in those aspects in some order.
  6. The best player in Museum donations did better in shopping than the best player in making money, but worse in shopping than the best player in house design.
  • If you used your knowledge from the first clue, it means that every player has one of each rank. For example, when the third clue said “the best player in house design is the worst in town design”, that means the best player in house rank is not in 5th place in shopping rank, money rank, or Musuem rank, as the worst player in town rank is not in 1st place in shopping rank, money rank, or Museum rank.
  • If one player from the fourth and fifth clues is not in th place in one of the aspects, they are in fourth place in that aspect while they are in fifth place in the other.
