Has anyone here undergone alcohol counseling? How was your experience with it? I'm addicted to alcohol and I'm not able to control myself. I started drinking at the age of 15 for a fun but later I became addicted to it.
I have tried only once to quit but I was not successful. I have shown severe withdrawal symptoms during that time. So I'm afraid to do it alone. I think an alcohol counseling from Calgary can help me and I'm planning to give it a shot. I just want to know if there is any chance to start drinking again once quitting completely. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
My sister's fiance is the type of guy who is easily addicted. He's been to counseling but even one drink gets him addicted again. Sorry that my only experience with alcohol addiction is that, no, you probably cannot drink again and control yourself. I hope you hear some more uplifting stories. Best of luck to you.
It depends mostly, if the symptoms of withdraw are severe go to a rehab center, or a therapist. If it isn't as sever you might wanna stop all together. Distance yourself from any possible triggers, try to avoid parties with it and reward yourself once in a while once when you beat your temptations. It's best not to do it alone so try to find someone who can keep track of you easy. I wish you the best of luck! You aren't alone!
Nope. There is a big history with alcohol in my family though. My mom has had a drinking problem since she was young and NOW almost all my siblings regularly drink (some not even of age.) I admit I've tried a little bit with them but after seeing how stupid and messed up they got wow I never wanna do that!
