AIM Question

I want to get AIM so I can chat with my non MSN friends, and does AOL have to be your ISP to use AIM? If not, when I sign up for an AIM username, will I be charged for using it (I know AIM is free, I just want to know if I will be charged for using my screen name)?

even if u dont have aol as ur isp, aim is free.
you wont be charged or anything...just sign up for a free aim account at aim.com.
