Alexa.com Toolbar

As you may have noticed, The Bell Tree's Alexa.com (an aggregate that compiles site hits) ranking has been going higher and higher. One of the reasons is that more people are using the Alexa.com toolbar, available for both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

This toolbar shows hit information (and a ranking) for any site you visit, and is a great way to keep track of different sites.

Taking TBT's benefits into account, if more people use this toolbar, our rating will only go higher, resulting in more hits. A lot of people browse Alexa.com from time to time and frequent the high-ranking sites.

Also, the higher our ranking, the more game publishers will be interested in supplying us with games for reviews, contests, etc... so essentially, it'll mean more content and more contests.

A better rank also means advertisers will want to pay more money for ads on the site. More money = more prizes in contests, cool TBT things for everyone, etc. And there's nothing wrong with promoting the extension/toolbar. Alexa wants as many people to get it as possible of course. (And if you don't know, Alexa is used by pretty much every site/business that wants to see the popularity of a certain website.)

The week after Storm, Bul and I initially started using it our rank jumped... then a lot of other people did, and our rank's gone from like 900k or something to top 100k in like a month or 2.

We can now have increased coverage of games... not just Nintendo-made games anymore. Now we can officially ask for Capcom games. Phoenix Wright, Resident Evil, etc etc! We can probably hook up with Konami, too... Sega... Hudson... etc etc.
