Ludi was and still is sooo cute, we also used to RP in the bit leading up to the PQ where the houses were haha! I loved the music and remember watching (at the time) high level players grinding the robots!! I much preferred watching people level up compared to doing it myself lmfao
Honestly Maplestory is where I found my love for JQs, did you ever take part in the sleepywood one? I’d spend hours and hours on my own trying to get through them and felt so good about myself once I’d finally reached the top haha!
I don’t blame you at all, it’s actually been really nice to reminisce. It was such an amazing game that I sunk so many hours into and I’m actually gutted that it changed so much otherwise I might still have played it today! I watched that video and how tf did they do that?? Brought back so many memories!!
To answer your question, I didn’t really play many other games when I was little but I did have a huge obsession with tamagotchis. I also loved Gaia online so I’d spend hours on the forums! I didn’t find animal crossing until I was around 11 or 12 I think and at the time I didn’t understand it so didn’t have as much of an attachment as I do now. I played the normal games like Spyro and crash bandicoot on PlayStation though!
honestly grinding was rough in og maplestory!! i still dont have the patience for it and i always liked doing quests more dsfkldjasl the robot days...... pqing for levels was more fun anyways!!
and yeah!! i did the sleepywood ones!! i always felt those were harder than the subway ones, but the hardest was... sabitrama's? the ellinia-background ones... with the lupins... god i was so bad at those, i always made my sister do them for me
i love JQs so much though no matter how hard they were!! they were so fun!! i think if present me went back to OG maplestory i just wouldnt have the time to grind that much, so i understand why they changed it... but i would love to have those days back!! i had a whole book with a list of names to use as tracks for PQs -- it was such an experience
i had a tamagotchi too but i never really... uh.. they always died. same with my digimon. somehow i missed the gaia online train (but i was on tinierme, but that was like.. beyond gaia's peak era i think)! but god i miss the cute anime aesthetic games.
(also have good memories of crash bandicoot, and watching my friends play spyro, though i never did myself! i should play the remakes one day--) ♥

I loved ffxiv for the same reason, could spend hours invested in the storyline!! I wish we could have played together because we would have made such a good team lmao. OMG THE ELLINIA ONES I absolutely hated those hahaha I remember watching this YouTuber who was like a maple legend who would do videos on the JQs, and then some scandal was released where he was pretending to be a girl and had to do an apology vid or something ?? Idk it was a blur but I remember being shook at the time hahaha.
