I have a really dumb question. I probably could do more research.

I know traditionally Amiibos are little toy figurines. I didn't like em. Sorry. I had Zelda BOTW with some ammibo cards and much prefer that. So...

Are early AC amiibo strictly figurines? I know there are series but are they random draws? I'm not quite sure how they come it and it bothers me. I'm honestly thinking of collecting originals but I do NOT want figurines.

The only figures of AC characters I can think of are for bigger characters (Tom nook, Isabelle, etc) and Smash Bros. Villager. Even with characters like Tom nook, they do have card variations. The only one I can think of that’s figure exclusive is the villager (because of smash bros). Also, the cards are random pulls unless you buy them individually off of places like eBay.

i have no idea. i want to collect the card (actual// not spoofed) but not the figures.

They all have an amiibo card version I believe; I have all of the figures and their equivalent in amiibo cards. There are more npc amiibos as a card than as an actual amiibo figure.

If only you could pick and choose which Amiibos you want.

Wait what? You can't choose the amiibos??? I'm not sure how each series work. The info online are pretty scattered I would appreciate any info how the amiibos sets or series works.

I always thought they came in random packs. Can always look for individual ones off Amazon/Ebay for probably more expensive that a pack. Could be wrong though. Not too familiar with it.

Oh I'm not too sure.. if it was cards i wouldn't mind collecting. I don't want duplicates with random pulls like magic cards. I don't want to pay an excessive amount either. I saw amiibos figure at five and below store but wasn't into it. If there was a guide or something that would be great. ( Like Beckett for sports cards or KBB with used cars)

Yeah, the Amiibo card packs are random so you can end up with duplicates. I think the packs are also kind of rare now. I've never seen any in stores where I live and I've only seen limited amounts of them for sale online.

I just bought the individual cards that I wanted from sellers on eBay and Amazon, but that can get expensive for the more popular villagers. Even the least popular cards cost me $1-2 a piece, so I'm sure the packs are probably more cost efficient.

oh that's unfortunate. Im trying to look for idividual cards from third party sellers but sites like ebay and etsy seems to be flooded with people selling homemade cards or stickers.
