Resident Night Mare
I didn't get to play much yesterday, because I had plans for last night. My writing group meets every Tuesday night and last night was our Game Night. We all bring something to eat, so it's a great potluck meal, and play some type of game. Cards Against Humanity was the choice last night; I also brought my Crabs Adjust Humidity expansion packs, just to add some variety. One of the members has a birthday this coming weekend, so we had cake and ice cream to top things off. Best of all, it was only 5 minutes from my house, so I didn't have to drive far; that was really a good thing when we were leaving, because the snow was falling. Again. It changed to rain overnight, so the pavement is bare, but it's supposed to get cold again tonight and 4-6" of snow tomorrow. I am so ready for spring and green stuff!
In Hollowyn, Pekoe found her house plot, just above Shari and right near Town Hall. Amazingly, she didn't erase any trees, so once I decide where I want the Police Station (near Town Hall and Re-Tail, I think) and The Roost (still thinking about that), whenever they get suggested, I can start going to town on my layout.
I got another hybrid this morning - an orange pansy. Like the purple rose, this was a first for me. Most of my flowers are just thrown down wherever right now, so the fact that I'm getting any hybrids is pretty amazing. I just plop them down in the nearest dirt patch when I buy from Leif, so I'll need to organize them better. Again, that'll happen once I get the final layout done.
I got the first expansion done on my basement. I'll probably get that paid off tonight with an island trip. One more expansion, then I can start working on the side and back rooms. Probably another week or so? Not too bad.
I also was given a Rococo Sofa, which I took to Cyrus. I had him refinish it in the Gothic White color, and that's in the basement. I put up the Cabin Wall and have a Wildflower Carpet for now. Not exactly sure what it'll end up as, but at least I can enjoy things for now.
I'm also thinking I might turn each mule's house into a fantasy dream house. That way I can "visit" and interact with different things and not have my house cluttered. One might be a library. Ooh, six big rooms, upstairs and down, of bookcases, comfy chairs, and maybe a fireplace.
Another could be a café, which I know is common, but focusing more on being a place for a writer to hang out. The sort of place I wish was near me, rather than having to stake out a table in the local Dunkin' Donuts (not that there's anything wrong with DD, but wouldn't you take cozy over functional?).
The third house? Not sure yet. Maybe a crafting area? I love to knit and do needlework, so it would be fun to have something reflecting that. I wonder if there are any items that relate to that. If not, maybe I can find some QR codes to alter things. Maybe little mini quilts to hang on the walls. That could be a fun house to plan out.
I'm also on the hunt for some stepping stone single tiles. You know the ones that look like flowers scattered across the tile? Well, I'd love to have something with gemstones, instead. My characters are named Emerald, Sapphire, Flint, and Jett, so emeralds, sapphires, diamonds, and onyx/black diamonds would be cute. Most of the town will be natural dirt paths, but in a few areas, stepping stones will work, and mixing flower tiles with gem tiles could look cute.
