I was all excited today because today is the birthday of one of my very favorite villagers in all of Animal Crossing: Lolly!!! I couldn't wait to get to her house and celebrate with my favorite little normal kitty.
Before that, though, I had patrolling to do. It was very cloudy today, and I silently hoped it would rain, but it never did this morning. As such, I began my daily chore of flower-watering. I'm also leaving all my weeds in my town unpicked in preparation for Weeding Day; I know it's a long way off, but hopefully I can accumulate enough weeds to get a piece of furniture from Leif. Walker told me he was very good at cleaning his plate, and acted like he thought I was skeptical of it. I have no idea why; he's always talking about food. Mira said she made herself get up early this morning...even though it was almost noon when I spoke to her. Uchis have such poor sleeping habits. She said she was sticking her face through the town's face-cutout standee a few days ago, but Lolly laughed at her. I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it, Mira...I know Lolly, and she would never make fun of anyone for any reason! She was only having fun, I can assure you. When I spoke to Eugene, he said he was standing under one of the street lamps one day, and everyone was looking at him like he was under a spotlight. He does have that "rock star" vibe around him, so I can definitely see why. On my way to sell my fossils and extra flowers, Astrid pinged me and gave me a beaded shirt just for putting up with her.
After watering my flowers and clearing my pockets of unwanted items, it was finally time to get down to the best part of the day! I made my way inside Lolly's house, and she was celebrating with Punchy! It makes sense, since they're next-door neighbors and everything, and it was so very cute! I gave her the kitchen sink I bought, and she seemed to love it. She also said how thankful she was to have good friends like me and Punchy. Awwww....I love my little Lolly!!! I stayed and chatted her up along with Punchy for awhile. Lolly told me her birthday was one step closer to maturity, and hoped to be mayor of her own town one day. I hope she's not trying to muscle in on my job! Punchy seemed very happy to be celebrating with Lolly, and also was understandably eyeing the cake.

Soon, it was sadly time to leave, and Lolly was very happy I stopped by for her birthday celebration. Today may have been Lolly's special day, but I certainly didn't neglect any of the other villagers in my town. Walker pinged me, wanting to buy the ruby I had gotten from today's fake ore rock for 2,000 bells. I bit at that price, since it really wasn't all that far off from what Re-Tail buys, I think. Making my way up to Main Street, I found Savannah there, and she said it must be the weather that made people want to buy new things. Judging by the cloudy skies, the only thing I'd really want to buy today is an umbrella... Checking the shops, I found a few things for my catalog, and also picked up some fertilizer for hybrid breeding. I returned to town to bury my fertilizer by my blue roses, and also tried to chat up my villagers a little. Eugene was talking about being a swimming pro, and wanted to set up a press conference or something. He later said he was kidding, and felt kind of dumb for bringing it up. If you want to impress Astrid, buddy, you should probably keep that kind of stuff to yourself. Just saying. Speaking of Astrid, she pinged me, and wanted to sell me a blue-zap suit for a small amount of Bells. I agreed, since it wasn't that much. I dropped in on Apollo, and he asked me if I'd ever taken a trip overseas before. I answered him honestly--no, I've never been outside the USA before. I've only ever visited about 8 states, TBH... He made me feel better by saying he hadn't been to very many places either. That's fitting, as he's an eagle. He belongs in America!

When I came back to the game after lunch, it was raining! Grr...I could have saved myself a lot of time by not watering today. Oh well, at least it means that any flowers I missed are covered. Since it started raining, I headed down to the beach to try to catch a coelacanth, but came up empty-handed. However, I did catch 3 red snappers, and promptly headed to Re-Tail to sell them for a cool 9,000 bells. I saw Rosie was home, and stopped in to visit her. I almost couldn't see her for a split-second, since she was hidden behind her makeup case! You can see it better in the pic below.

We chatted for a while, and she mentioned to me that she was born on February 27th--and the date was in blue. That reminded me that April Fools' Day is coming up, since I know they'll drop hints like this that are important on that date. I tried talking to my other villagers about this after I left Rosie's place, and I learned that Eugene wants to be a guitarist someday (that honestly doesn't surprise me, as he's got lots of guitars in his house!) and Savannah's favorite saying is "Keep your chin up". I know the sayings are also written on their pics when they give them to you, so sort of like the birthdays, they're pretty easy to look up if you have their pics.
And that did it for my day in Animalia. I'm so glad I got to experience the birthday of one of my favorite villagers, and I'm also happy I got her a present she enjoyed. I look forward to having Lolly in my town for a long, LONG time to come!!!
