Animated GIF Avatars

So using my bells I bought the Animated GIF avatars so I could upload an animated gif...

...except my GIF isn't animated? Do I have to turn on some special setting first? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Did you upload from your computer or use an URL?

I've tried both ways, the avatar just isn't animated.

EDIT:I tried resizing the image in photoshop and now it works just fine!

Odd, do you have the original Gif?

I've fixed it. I just had to resize the image. Should've tried that first. Thanks for willing to help though!

I think the issue is that if you upload an oversized image where the forum would normally resize it for you, it saves it as a normal image when it resizes, not a GIF.
