hey ^^ ive been lurking for around a year and finally decided to join with the latest update around the corner

ive been debating on restarting just because I want to change my island name and theme. its a hard choice bc my current island is so sentimental to me. it got me thru a traumatic event earlier this year.

It makes me feel better that a ton of people are resetting right now because of the update, I'm very excited to be a part of the wave of players experiencing it on a new island together! I think the thing I'm most excited for in the update is the DLC. I've never attempted to decorate interiors as it wasn't something that interested me, and the ability to decorate the interiors of our villagers has me extremely intrigued to give it a try!

I'm excited to help renovate villager homes too! I've enjoyed designing the interior of my rep's home, but I think the introduction of partitions, pillars and accent walls is really going to take it to the next level. I'm really looking forward to designing some vacation homes for villagers I haven't interacted with yet in NH!

It will be interesting to see the differences between people's "old" and new islands, particularly if it's the first time they've reset! If their first attempt was anything like mine, their reset island will be a big improvement!

i’m so glad that you’ve decided to join us — we’re all super happy to have you! i’m sorry to hear that you went through something traumatic earlier this year, but i’m glad that acnh helped you through it a bit! resetting your island is definitely a big decision, but whatever you decide to do will be completely valid! do whatever you think will make you the happiest. <3

Concerning the reseting, I completely understand that it's not easy to let go all the work you put in your island and the memories attached to it too but, as xara said, choose the choice that makes you happy and feel good in the end ☺

I feel you, I hesitated to reset my game too, but I finally decided to keep it but to change the whole decoration and disposition of the island to get a fresh start vibe without loosing all my DIY recipes ! But no matter the choice you'll make about your island, I hope you'll enjoy the update and the forum =)

Hello there, and thank you so much! I've seen that ACNH has gotten a ton of people through some hard stuff (mainly relating to the pandemic) and I think the simplistic freedom and the mash-up between cute and cozy that the game offers works wonders on the wounded soul. I decided to reset my island today and I'm so glad I did! It feels like I've gotten a fresh start now and I like my map a lot more.

i completely agree! plus, it gave people, including me, a chance to socialize with others when doing so irl wasn’t an option, which i think is great!

Hello there, thank you! I ultimately decided to reset and I'm so glad I did! I've been enjoying my island map much more and it feels good to wipe away the associations I had with my old island, even though it had a place and time to get me through some stuff and will always be appreciated by me for that. Here's to new beginnings!

It's great that you made your choice and are happy with it, a fresh start can be very invigorating !
Life is just made of chapters, everything has a beginning and an end
