In X and Y, we were given the new fairy type. However, does anyone think there is a chance we will be given ANOTHER new type? If so, what do you think it will be? Or better yet... what do you want it to be?

NO there is NOT going to be a new type

I REALLY hope there isn't a new type. The only new type since Fairy-type were Steel and Dark-type back in Generation 2. If they're going to do anything weird with typing, just expand on Fairy-type. A new one really isn't necessary.

yeah, just make fire good against fairy and that'd likely solve a lot of problems. keep in mind i'm no competitive expert, so idk

I really don't think there would be a new one. So many types already, I'm not sure what the new one would be.

Please no. There really isn't a need for a new one! (Unless they do light-type THAT WOULD BE WICKED)

Whn they announced a new type for XY, I 100% thought it was going to be Light type. It made sense to me since there was already a Dark type and I figured Light would be very applicable to certain pokemon and moves.

I was let down, but in my opinion, Fairy type basically is what I expected Light to be, so I'm not that disappointed.

But the new type really threw me off tbh, haha. I don't think they'll be adding a new type anytime soon ~

I really hope not. Now that Fairy is going to be thrown in everywhere it's going to be really hard to go back to older games when it wasn't a thing. I feel bad for today's youth who might want to play older gens.

I barely know anything about the new type anyway. Took me years to memorize all the types and there are still some things I have to look up. New types just throw me off.

I was really hoping for light type. :[

fairy type is pretty much already light type

Why not, could be fun lol.

Lol at all the negativity, rather new types than abusing graphics kthx

They should simply expand on the Fairy type. New Pokemon, new moves, new abilities associated with those Pokemon. The introduction of the Fairy type balanced the metagame - it improved Steel and Poison whilst nerfing Dragon. They really shouldn't add a new type.

i dont think the chances of having a new type is high. but i would love some new type though like light type and maybe even devil/demon type since we have ghost type. and fyi, ghost and demon is totally 2 different things.

Dark type is called Evil type in Japan, and things associated with devils/demons are put into either Dark or Ghost. Things associated with light are put into either Electric or Fire (or Psychic in a few cases). I don't think those types would bring anything new to the table, nor any other type suggested over the past few years for that matter.
