Any books you just couldn't finish reading?

The first time I was given The Hobbit (I was maybe 8), I gave up on it. I tried it again in my early 20s and enjoyed it much more.

As for books that I couldn't finish, and subsequently banned from my house, was Twilight. A simply horrible waste of my time.

Yeah I tried reading the first page, I was like wtf is this crap omg.

some i remember are the second divergent book or some book apparently called Fire by kristing cashore..... also the first games of thrones book, it's not that it sucks it's just long and has many names and i'm depressed

Pretty much every book I've read on my own time, I've never finished either because I was busy with school or a summer project, or my ADD got in the way and I couldn't just sit and read it so I gave up. That includes, The Green Mile, Pet Sematary, Christine, and East of Eden (the latter I actually only read about 4 chapters).

The only book I've read on my own time that I actually finished was Of Mice and Men, and I think that's because it's only about 100 pages long and pretty easy to get through. This Summer I plan on reading East of Eden again and getting all the way through it; it seemed interesting, I just didn't have the time to finish it.

Should be said, yeah I love to read but yeah some printings and books ...I just can't :^^)

The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean. That book was just so hard to understand ;_; Like, the wording and concepts were very difficult to grasp, and I constantly felt like I had to reread each page because I hadn't understood.

I had to read it for school, and honestly, I can't name one person who actually read it. I read it when I was about 13, and the book was just way to difficult for a 13 year old :[

I haven't picked up that one yet but I did buy his "the violinist's thumb" haven't actually started it yet though haha. But yeah those seem like they'd be boring for 13 year olds. It's like schools want kids to hate reading.

The Luminaries! I want to like this book so badly but I just cannot get into it at all. I've tried a few times, I may give it a rest and come back in a few years.

This one looks good! I keep eyeing it but I haven't bought it yet. Maybe I'll check the library though, might end up with the same problem as you haha.

Harry Potter. I've checked them out from my library and tried to get into it, but it's too long and way too many books.

idk I tried to see the hype over Harry Potter but I just can't lol... I remember reading the books and stopping at like the fifth page.

Ugh I read the whole Divergent series and it was such a waste of time. I absolutely hate that series. I've read Game of Thrones, but I don't think I'll continue with the rest of series.
