Idk if I?m allowed to talk about like health related topics either here or just anywhere on this forum so if I?m not allowed to please let me know and I?ll close the thread :).

Anyways, I have scoliosis and am just looking for maybe some fellow scoliosis friends :3. We can talk about our journeys and idk just get to know each other ^-^. Hope to find my fellow scoliosis warriors out there <3

P.S. happy scoliosis awareness month!

P.P.S. I know it?s also pride month but it just so happens to be scoliosis awareness month :)

P.P.P.S idk if saying ?happy? is the right word since it?s not officially called ?scoliosis PRIDE month? but oh well! :3

It's totally ok to talk about health problem here! I have scoliosis but not to a severe degree, I won't need surgery or anything. I just have mild pain sometimes.

Oh ok cool! That’s good to hear that yours isn’t major.. unfortunately mine is but I’m doing special scoliosis workouts to decrease my degree and hopefully avoid surgery :)

I was born with Scoliosis and still have it.

Oh wow.. do you mind me asking what your curvature degree is? You totally don’t have to answer if too personal but it’s just cool to me to be able to talk with people who have scoliosis since none of my close friends and family do :)

My boyfriend has scoliosis after a bad car accident and I could potentially have it. I'm on the road to getting diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which can cause scoliosis. My back/neck are high pain areas.

We had scoliosis exams at school when I was younger. I had a slight case, but not enough to where I needed a medical procedure. A girl I had gym class with had to get rods put in her back for her scoliosis, though.

Oh my goodness! Hopefully he’s okay now (other than having scoliosis)? I’ve never heard of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome but I’ll pray for you <3 have you gone to a chiropractic? I’ve thought about it but I’m scared to make my back worse..

We had the same exams at my middle school, that’s how I originally found out but my doctor said it wasn’t a severe case but little did a I know that a year and a growth spurt later that I would go from less than 20 degrees to 90 degrees. (Obviously you don’t have to listen to my advice since I’m not a medical expert :3 but) I would maybe continue to go to a doctor to check out your spine maybe yearly or so? Since I didn’t have a severe case when I first found out but eventually it became severe, I’d like to I guess warn others :). Hopefully the girl in your gym class is doing better now? From research I know that getting the rods is a very hard process and you can never truly be back to normal. I heard about vertebrae tethering which is a way less invasive surgery along with a way shorter recovery time so if I do have to get surgery down the road, that’s the route I plan on going down. ^^

Oh, I didn't know that! I don't have scoliosis, but my mother has and throughout my life, I've been massaging her back to ease the pain. Sometimes, there were moments where it would be really painful requiring me to pop her back and a lot of massaging. She's experienced it for a long time and first suspected it when she was in university. I can't imagine what it's like when my mother gave birth to me and my sister...

That’s so nice of you to massage her back to ease the pain. My dad massages my back when the pain gets really bad (I feel like he was a masseuse in another life LOL).
