Logic puzzle games like Professor Layton. I just don’t have the brain for those kinds of puzzles. I think I have the solution and then it’s completely wrong. I could look up the answers, but that would go against the point of the game. It’s a shame since I really like the characters and art style style in those games.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is another one. I really wanted to try it because the thought of flying over real places sounds awesome, but the flight mechanics were too complicated for me. There were a million keys to learn and I couldn’t even get past the tutorial. My grandpa played the original version of that game in the 80s, but I’m pretty sure the only reason he was good at it was because he had an actual pilot’s license.
my little cousins have been wanting me to join them on their valorant quest but fps games just seem too complicated for me akjekjrgbre
it's mostly the callouts and just knowing how to pull your weight that stresses me out i think - part of the reason why i think splatoon scares me, but !!!! i've been talking to a twitter moot that's been trying to really persuade me into getting it Q-Q they're really pulling out all the stops cause they keep sending me videos and guides to help me out haha it's somewhat working asjkerkjghbe
i love playing casual and hunting shinies, but i swear to god i have never properly understood how competitive works ive tried watching some videos before and it's just too much math and training and it just makes my brain hurt lmao. other games w stats and stuff i can understand pretty well, but idk the pokemon math never sticks in my brain so i gave up ever trying to be a competitive player
and its funny bc i love watching competitive pokemon breakdowns and stuff, but when they pull out the stat sheet im like oh that's interesting! (i have no idea what the numbers mean). also EV training and IVs what are they even. i just assumed 6 across the board is good IV but then again i literally do not understand!
Sudoku? Picross? I'm having trouble thinking of something that isn't a puzzle game.
Ah, someone mentioned having to look at guides for Zelda. Yep. I cannot play a Zelda game without help...
There's probably something else I haven't even attempted playing because it looks too hard. I can't think of what right now, though.
Edit: I totally forgot. I tried to play Puyo Puyo but my brain couldn't figure out how to set up combos at all and that was a huge problem.
As much as I like the series, Rune Factory, the crafting mechanism in games 4 and 5 are too complicated. During several save files of RF4, I just winged it and hoped that I would be lucky enough to find good equipment in the field dungeons instead.
I haven’t been doing much gaming lately because of adult life, but Cuphead was the first game that came to mind when I read the thread title! like why is it so hard? lol either that or I just suck.
I really really hate F-Zero 99. I’m still stuck on that stupid tutorial where you need to place within the top ten or something like that to pass. I’ve been trying to get past it so I can finally play the game but every single time I’m close, I still lose because of something completely stupid like my car getting hit one too many times or an AI car suddenly appears behind me and speeds up and knocks me out of the race. I especially hate how there is that Online Mission that requires you to finish a race but the stupid tutorial doesn’t count and it keeps screwing me over from getting 100 Platinum Coins which I desperately want so I can continue collecting all of the icons for whatever game is being featured. I am missing quite a few of the Mario Odyssey ones and can’t get them now because I don’t own a copy of the game and the last time you were able to get them without owning it, F-Zero messed it all up for me! Screw F-Zero 99!
Games that come to mind are maybe Cuphead and Devil May Cry 1, in Cuphead I could never get past the first world more so bc of the platformer levels since I would want to get all the coins but I struggle w any kind of 2D platformer so I ended up giving up on that game which is sad bc I love the rubberhose animation and the music as well, bummer :/
DMC1 I got about half way through until I just couldn't get past one of the boss fights and silently gave up on the game, tho I really want to complete it so I can play the other DMC games
Many years ago I tried Fire Emblem Reawakening and I was pretty bad at it (haven't tried any FE games before or since). Although since I have learned to be better at strategy games like Civilization so perhaps I should give it another try. Still, Civilization is different as in you are not playing a full game of story with strategy, but instead are just starting new sessions, so it's easy to back out when one goes wrong, but it's just not the same with FE. I think the fact that characters could die was just too stressful for me.
