I like to build yard ideas based off the villager's personality (so like Jock or Smug etc) but then especially their Hobby!

Some have the Nature hobby, so I put a lot of plants or bug models, etc.

But for instance, Lily has the Education hobby so I would probably give her a cute little reading nook with books and cushions to sit on.
Otherwise I just try and match colors to their house or to their personality (or just what I have available for DIYs / items in my catalogue haha).

ive always liked sherb on the beach. his light blues go well with the ocean and the beige in the sand. hes good on the grass in winter because of the whites but personally i find trouble blending him in with the surroundings. ive considered taking lily and if i did i would put her around water. lots of little streams and waterfalls and generally lots of saturated nature.

Kid Cat is my favorite villager, but I always hated his house exterior (and interior) ..however, after decorating, his house has become my absolute favorite!

His yard is still a work in progress, but hopefully these pictures can still be of use to you. And sorry I couldn't take pictures of the back of his house, I just put stuff that I thought matched his personality.
