It's been happening to me since last night, if I click certain areas of the forum I get a white screen with text saying 'unexpected database error has occurred. Please try again later.'
9/10 times a simple refresh will fix the issue, so not a huge deal, but at the same time it's a glitch I've never seen before on here.

Only prior to last night's server crash/etc is when I got that database error. I haven't gotten one yet. I did have to reset one of my shortcuts because it saved the white page somehow, lol.

There was a server crash? Well that explains it. There must still be a few kinks to work out. A few minutes ago when I refreshed the white error page, I was suddenly logged out.

I've not had any unexpected database errors similar to what happened last night, no, but I have experienced one or two bouts of extended load times tonight. Nothing too serious, but yeah.

I only had a small problem like that at first, before I hit Ctrl+Shift+R. The site has had no problems for me since. Try hard refreshing as well to clear your cache.

I don't seem to have any problems like everyone else keep saying. Is this only happening to some people?

It's probably their browser caching the bad page. Clear the cache or Ctrl+Shift+R will get rid of the cached error paged.

About half the time I open up Belltree I get it. I even tried using different browsers and I found no difference between Safari and Bing.

So you're saying it depends of what kind of browser they're using. I'm using google and l never had any problems like this.

No I'm saying that each browser has a cache. So which ever one you were using when you got the error, go clear it and see if you stop seeing it.

ok l understand now.
And like l said l don't need to. I don't have any problems.

I have noticed that your browser will cache the bad pages individually, not for the whole forum. For example, I couldn't access the forum index the other day, so I cleared the cache, and it worked fine after that. Then, I couldn't access the New Leaf forum specifically, so Ctrl+Shift+R.

So if anyone is having persistent problems, you might have to do this on a per-page basis, I suppose?

It happened to me two days. First one i couldnt enter a specific section but i could click and open the last replied-to thread but i knew the issue was on my end because i could see the last repiled thread changing throught the day. Next day i think it might have happened to the whole forum because i couldnt access the main page. Havent had this issue yesterday nor today, tho. I am on mobile, btw.

I was going to make a separate thread for this, but I’ll post it here. My cache is pretty clear at all times and cookies are enabled, and I’m having a difficult time loading the forum at times. The forum still has choppy loading times, and I know I’m not the only one experiencing this. Is there a reason for this? Just wondering.

*This started happening just after the Halloween event ended.

Jeremy has isolated the cause behind these issues and is working to decide the best long-term solution to the problem. We're sorry for any inconvenience in the meantime. :)

Thank you for this! I was just wondering what was going on, and glad to see that it’s being worked on.
