We always host the family dinner and I have tons of anxiety issues as well as just being an introvert anyway, and the house is in constant turmoil from 6 pm the night before til 8 pm the next night. It's just a little hard when you don't feel connected to your family at all and you hate small talk all day long. Anyone else wish we could just skip it?

I'm from Canada, so we celebrate it Thanksgiving in October. However, it is Grey Cup Sunday (CFL) so my family always gets together. I really love it, as awkward as I am with my family I love every minute. Even though I live in the same neighbourhood as my parents and brothers, I don't see much of them - so it's a nice treat.

My family knows I don't say a whole lot in family get-togethers. Apparently I surprised them when I had to do a thank you speech at my wedding. They didn't think I could do any sort of form of public speaking.

I sometimes have minor social anxiety issues as well...
But it's going away now! :)
I'm sure you'll find your way out of the anxiety someday! :D

Not really. We have a lot of people living in our house so we only have dinner together.

:Y our thanksgiving already past and the only thing I used to dread about it was eating turkey for weeks afterwards. now we're smart and don't buy turkey anymore.

Yeah I guess I'm the same way, I don't connect with anyone and I'm so awkward lol. But it's not so bad since I have my brother to talk and have fun with and the homemade food is really good.

nope!! i get to see my dad and brother and the rest of my family, eat pumpkin pie (which is my love) and then play video games the rest of the night OwO

Yeah and I feel the same way about Christmas and Easter.

It's not even the anxiety though it's that a lot of them are ignorant bigots and/or annoyingly arrogant and just exhausting to be around in general. Not to mention how nosy they are omfg like just leave me alone nothing is any of your business

I hate it because everyone in my family except me are meat eaters.

Did you know that turkeys remember your face and will sit closer to you each day you visit? They also love to be pet.

On another note, crows also remember you. If you're mean to them. They'll go and tell all their lil crow buddies and they'll all be mean to you. But no crow hate here, I think their neat, and kinda stupid I HAD TO SAVE ONE AT LUNCH TODAY CAUSE IT FRICKIN RAN OFF WITH BALLED UP TIN FOIL ND IM LIKE BRUH U DUMDUM

Not until this year. My siblings are coming home for thanksgiving and I feel like my brother and sister with literally maul each other to death if they're left in the same room together.

Cool! Did you know that turkeys are also delicious?

I actually kinda hate it now since work has been so busy. jfc what a week

Depends. Normally I do, because even though I don't have to do any kind of work for Thanks Giving, it stresses my parents to the point where they stress me. This year, my family is eating out, but because of the style of restaurant they chose we may have to sit with a ton of total strangers :T

I have to work, but after work, I'll go to my brothers. All of my siblings and their kids will be there. Usually around 40 people all together. The food is always fantastic. Every kind of pie. I have such a wonderful family. Everyones so funny and cheerful. ( except one of my sisters, but I guess you can't have everything). I'm looking forward to it.
