Our school is canceled today because it's been snowing from like 6 in the morning yesterday, and it's still going. It's like 10 degrees out. Gotta love Michigan weather.

So I'm curious, does anyone else have a snow day today? And if not, do you think you should? All my friends and I were expecting to get a snow day today, but I was pretty surprised when they actually called one. It's only November 12th, and we've already got these horrible weather conditions. Won't be surprised if they have to add a few more weeks at the end of school because we've missed so much.

... I wish we would get enough snow here just to build at least a miniature snow man.

I mean, it's cold outside today, but not cold enough for snow. Also the sun shines and I could scream, because my eyes are hurting again. I hate the current weather we have here so much, no real fall or winter, no wonder I feel so sick the past days.

haha no college usually doesn’t care. mine hasn’t been closed in like 20 years.

Nope, cuz my county is always a finicky brat about snow, so that means I can't go back to bed until my brother leaves for school. I wish it'd been canceled so he could've gotten more sleep--poor guy stayed up half the night working on an essay...

Just a dusting of sleet...it still counts enough to have hot chocolate

I don't get snow days anymore because I work now. :( I miss getting them!! Though being in Canada, I doubt we would have gotten one anyway. We got snow but not enough to screw the city.

It got really chilly for early November and I think we got some sleet for a short time, but nothing significant.

I want to be excited, but given the incredibly limited nature of winter where I live over the last decade or so, I see these early cold fronts as possibly being part of the limited cold snaps we get during winter and that concerns me. We haven't had a real snowstorm since early 2011. Seeing as the cold snaps we've had so far haven't brought us any significant winter weather, it worries me.

I hope I'm wrong.

It snowed recenly where I live. The cold weather is also kind of sad since it is only November.

Yep! It is quite dry and frigid out there. I had to get groceries unfortunately. :(

Some schools around my area definitely got a snowday today. They seem to cancel buses for even the tiniest amount of snow here these days. I was different when I went to school. Not that it affects me I still have work regardless and most of the time the roads aren't even that bad.

It was -9 Celsius (16F) this morning.

i got a snow day because in my town you can't even see the roads right now and its like 3 degrees outside. I think it's funny though because yesterday I was raking leaves in 60 degree weather and now I have a pile of leaves covered in snow and it's freezing.

I wish it would snow even just a little bit where I live, but living in a high desert, there isn't any at all. I don't think it has snowed where I live since 2009 I think? Yeah, it's been awhile. Maybe one day I'll have a snow day, but for now, it's just very dry weather here. ;-;

Nope, no snow. Just ice. And school isn’t cancelled either. :lemon:

nope. although, i would like if we did. there's literally snow and ice EVERYWHERE and i nearly slipped like 4 times coming home today.

The last snow day I had was aaaaaall the way back in Kindergarden, when a large truck just threw chopped up ice on the playground and we all thought it was snow.

I live in the part of the state that can not get snow.

I'm in college now, but I had the first day of snow around a week ago. It wasn't enough to make it a snow day though, and from where I live, schools rarely close. Back in January (I think), the school board decided to close the schools for once.

Before that event, the last time the schools closed was somewhere back in 2011. That's eight years ago! So yeah, even though there were many snowy days that could've closed down the schools, it didn't go through BUT canceled the school bus operations. That means parents and children had to walk through snowy if not, slippery conditions.

We had snow last Monday when you got a snow day, but I don't think any schools were closed here. My university stayed open through multiple major snow storms last year so I am not expecting any snow days this year either :p

Yes and my car got stuck in the middle of the road. I stopped at a red light but couldn’t go forward anymore when the light turned green. It finally got going again right at the yellow light.

School typically doesn’t close for snow here either, or it would pretty much be closed on and off for like 6 months lol.
