I'm up at night but asleep during the day so I'm setting my switch to my time +12 hours so that way stores and villagers are awake. Anyone else do this and if so, why?
I'm always keeping my time around 1-5pm before changing it back to 1! I like to see all my guys wandering around, and the Cherry blossoms blowing in the wind
not 12 hours, only 5. i tend to get up after noon because my sleeping pattern is a little out of whack and i play slightly later in the day. the evenings are nice in the game, but i prefer the blue skies, and there are better/rarer bugs about during the day, so. it's also easier for me to check my morning turnip prices and calculate each week's pattern this way.
Yes. I usually play around 11 pm during work days. By that time, the screen is dark and the shops are closed. I hate that, so I set the time to something like 12 pm.
If it’s nighttime and I didn’t get a chance to play earlier I’ll set the time to when the shops are open but I’ll change it to the real time after I’m done shopping because I love the atmosphere of the night.
I'll normally change it to about -5 hours when I'm busy with work/uni, since the times I'll most play at is night. However I do switch it around regularly.
Yes, I do this too! I'm usually somewhere between real time and +12 hours to make sure I get to see my island in daytime too. If I didn't, I'd never be able to use the shops and only ever see the three or four villagers that stay up late.
I usually only play after 5 pm EST since that’s when I get out of work. I don’t like customizing my town at night though since I can’t see well, so I change it to in between 12-4 pm.
I definitely stay awake till like 4 am and rarely play during the day. But, I never really saw a need for reverse hours with New Horizons. I see my villagers out a lot at night anyway, and the drop box for selling items is a good enough solution to the shop being closed. Granted, you make less money. But, I'm usually just looking to empty my inventory and not necessarily make money anyway.
Not 12, but like a lot of others, I do have it minus about 5 hrs. I don't get out of work until 4 - 5 PM when I'm doing overtime, and by then, everything's starting to get kind of dark. I don't like it when dusk sets in very much, because my old switch's battery is so bad, turning the brightness up to see anything drains it so fast I pretty much have to play with it plugged in. :[
So by setting my time to noon, I have a few hours to play before it starts to get dark, and by that time, I've done my tasks and a lot of the terraforming I've wanted to do, and then I don't mind as much that it's starting to get harder to see the details.
