I'm just curious if anyone else here has tried soft resetting for a Shiny Latias (in Alpha Sapphire) or Latios (in Omega Ruby). I'm talking about the gift ones, the ones that "join your party" after you battle Team Aqua/Magma to protect the Lati, and not the Eon Ticket one.

I myself have been trying to Soft reset for Shiny Latias with no luck so far. It sure is tedious with that 3min+ cutscene and Aqua/Magma battle you have to go through each time.

What has your experience been soft resetting for one of these? Have you had any luck?

The ones you encounter during the storyline are Shiny locked but the ones that you unlock with the eon ticket aren't

Oh, wtf. I ****ed up then :(

Well, wait everything I've found still doesn't totally prove it 100%. I'm trying to soft reset for one myself to hopefully put this issue to rest lol.

What everyone in the General pokemon thread has been saying that storyline eon twins are shiny locked

But again, that's just based off of word of mouth. There's no real 100% to support either possibility. So for now I guess it's unknown/debatable.

They're not.

It's not debatable, it's a fact.

Ok, thanks. I was sure I heard they weren't shiny locked, but some people on here believed otherwise and I have yet to get one myself so I was confused on what to believe lol.

Okay then name your source

The YouTube link I posted earlier is also an example of proof. The guy was soft resetting for Latias in Alpha Sapphire and he finally got a shiny after 400+ soft resets.

I tried about 100 times for Latias. I gave up and just went to go get a Shiny Latias somewhere else. I wasn't really that bothered. I was thinking it was shiny locked.

oh i replied to someone else not u ;P

lol omg, it took me 3 whole days (resetting like hours a day with breaks) to get an almost perfect iv'd latias with a bold nature. i kept getting just 3 iv's in bad stats and terrible natures. i ended up getting like 4 stats with 31 (hp, def, spD, spA) and 27 in speed which isn't bad, and like 20 in attack which latias doesn't need anyway so i consider that perfect.
it was driving me crazy idk how people can stand continuously resetting for a shiny. yet i couldn't stop until i got it.
in fact, i think the latias from the story is shiny locked? idk

Did you use a synchronizer? Apparently synchronizers work with that Latias. My friend got a 5IVed one in a much shorter time than me getting a Timid one because he had a synch. I didn't know it actually works.

Wow this thread got a little off topic, but now that we all know that Latias is not Shiny locked, has anyone else attempted this?

It takes forever to go through the cutscene and battle just to get one shot at getting Latias/Latios to shine, so I assume people aren't patient enough to get into a serious hunt with this thing, however the Eon Ticket Latias/Latios is a different story..
