Pokémon Anyone planning on getting the Pokémon DP remakes?

I'll get one of them I guess.

I would have much preferred they just remade Platinum. The double dipping with Pokemon games having two barely different versions is bad enough, but it's a bit ridiculous that they keep double dipping in the remakes too when they all pretty much had a 'definitive version' that should have been remade instead.

I’m not planning on getting it. I haven’t had a main series Pokémon game since the release of the original Black/White versions.

I’ll probably get shining pearl eventually but I’m playing my older Pokemon games first
I have the ds version of pearl :)

I think I will probably be getting it, haven't decided if I want Diamond or Pearl though. I never played the originals but I'm interested in trying it out, hopefully it will be a little more "classic Pokemon" than the last few game releases have been.

I’m planning on getting the remakes. Never played the originals, but my favorite Pokémon, Lucario, started in diamond and pearl. Plus, I’m bored of sword and shield. Story for those games seemed bland, hope the remakes have a more interesting story to go through.

I'm not going to get the remakes at this point, though that has nothing to do with the games themselves. I'm sure the remakes will be good! It's just that I have already played Pearl (and Platinum as well) and didn't really have any interest in getting remakes of Diamond/Pearl even before they were officially announced.

I'm getting them! Although I hope they aren't full price games if they are the same exact games, just with new graphics because if that's the case then I probably won't get them. However, I'm hoping these are more similar to Platinum so they have more content.

It’s a Pokémon game, so of course I’ll pick it up day one. The chibi models don’t bother me that much to be honest. I more dislike the colors. Everything looks so washed out in the trailer. At the same time, Gen 4 is one of my favorites and I’d love to see how another studio interprets these games. As long as the updated gameplay and music hold up I think I’ll enjoy them.

Tbh, i have mixed feelings about it... TvT DP was my favorite game back in the day since it was the first time ever beating the elite four! (Platinum) and was really hoping it'd have a similar remake like Ruby/Sapphire where their taller... not chibi...

Yep, I always get all the main series games, lol. And I've been looking forward to the inevitable Gen. 4 remakes since... well, since the Gen. 3 remakes, lol. I think the graphics look cute (I prefer the newer graphics, but I honestly don't care a ton about graphics)

Sinnoh was a really neat region and I'm excited to explore it again! My ONE complaint is that I would prefer a Platinum remake, just like I would've preferred an Emerald remake instead of Ruby/Sapphire. The plots in the sequels tend to be more well-rounded, and I actually enjoy the plots in the games, so I was a bit bummed to see the plots in the Gen. 3 remakes were scaled back. I mean, it makes sense, I suppose- if nothing else, you had access to both Kyogre and Groudon in Emerald, so I guess Nintendo wouldn't want just one remake when they could do two.

But I REALLY hope the Gen. 4 remakes include some of the extended plot from Platinum, like that cool... whatever world it was you got to visit!

Right now I'm kinda on the fence. I'll wait until we know more about the game to decide. If theres enough interesting stuff thats different about the game like there was in Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire then I probably will pick it up.

The chibi characters do look a bit weird but I'm sure I'll get over it with enough time. If there's some interesting post game then I'll probably get it for sure!

I sure am! If the game's good anyway. I'm waiting for for reviews since games are pricy nowadays. But I'm really hoping it's good cause I love gen 4!

Yes, definitely! Gen 4 is my all-time favorite and I’m hyped to re-experience the game on switch, along with the legend of Arceus one. The art of the remake does look a little funky but I’ll probably get over it with time. I don’t really want to wait for reviews since the remake has been something I’ve been waiting for, quite literally, since I played DPPt 10+ years ago. Even if it’s not that good, DPPt still holds a special place in my heart and I’d definitely regret not purchasing its remake.

I actually am thinking about getting these. Diamond & Pearl were the last pokemon games that I genuinely enjoyed - Black and White were okay, and then I wasn't crazy about any of the 3D stuff (especially Sword/Shield - very disappointing).

I'll be interested to see if more of a 1:1 remake like this one could revitalize my interest in the series.

No, they don't look good. It's disappointing to see this after the Pokemon remakes had such a great stride going for them. D/P deserved better.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus, however, looks fantastic and I'm really looking forward to it! =)

Not likely, especially if it’s more or less Diamond and Pearl but with an uglier coat of paint. I’ve got those games already and hated them then, can’t imagine it being much better on Switch outside of saving us from the “Saving a lot of data…” eight minute long segments.

No, I don't plan on getting these remasters. If The Pokemon Company thinks they can bait me with nostalgia then they're dead wrong. Many want new content, new forms, new something. Gamefreak is spending all their time, energy, and most importantly money on Legends Arceus. They're banking on that game to be the new direction of the game franchise, which is honestly a good thing.

I really want it but I don't think I can really justify getting BOTH Legends and one of the DP remakes.

I'm definitely getting one of them! Haven't decided if I'm going to get the Diamond or Pearl remake yet... The chibi models don't bother me, I actually prefer this to what they did with Sword and Shield. Gen. 4 is my favorite generation and it feels like I've been waiting for these remakes for years.
