Long time no update! I’m not drawing as much as I’d like to lately because life became very busy (I feel like I’ve been saying this for half a year straight???). My only real drawing windows are on the bus to uni when it isn’t too bumpy and during lectures when I should be listening hah ;u; so progress is going sloooow. Anyhow, here’s some stuff I’ve made recently:


Been playing some splatoon with @Dunquixote and @skarmoury last week which was so fun and inspiring, I had to make some splat art of our characters together. The first one is skar and I on a sniper hunt because we have discovered a mutual hatred for them, and the second one is Dunq and I ruling splat zones lol (the sniper in pic one is not you Dunq, that was just an unfortunate hairstyle choice I made)

I have not forgotten, still working on this and here’s an update:

Something looks uncanny, the eyes, the mouth… will revisit but it’s just a wip so not too worried. Seeing the new drawing side by side with the old one on the right makes me really proud ^u^

These are all so amazing! The Splatoon ones are especially so adorable; I’m so glad you had fun too . The three of us definitely have to play together sometime .

This was a year of not meeting a single one of my art goals. This was a year of very little artistic growth compared to my previous years. But the most important thing I learned this year, is that I need to change my mindset. Setbacks are part of the journey and growth is not linear.

I am looking forward to where I will go in the year to come ​

I have been doing digital art since 2021 after many many years of traditional art.
First I started out with a cheap Huion tablet and Krita and now I use Procreate and an iPad.
Typically I use this thread to look back at old art and analyse what I have already improved at and what I still need to learn.

For many years I wanted to learn digital drawing after doing traditional art most of my life. I kept coming to the museum and stare in awe at the beautiful artworks created by the amazing artists here on tbt. I always felt intimidated by digital drawing because of the many unknown mechanics and complicated looking program interfaces. Because I'm so critical of my art I was afraid I'd never be satisfied, as with digital art it seems like it could always be improved on a new layer whereas on paper there's only so much you can do until the paper is full. So, about two months ago in April I finally picked up my tablet and started exploring ~

Originally I wanted to wait until I create more artwork I truly like before showing it online and daring to make a thread but I think if I go down that road, I'll never upload anything because sooner or later I always start disliking my art.

I want to take this as a learning opportunity, to look back on old pieces and to be able to (hopefully) see my improvement over time. The past two months have been a very steep learning curve and I still discover new features in my art program every time I use it. There is still a lot to learn, for example how on earth to shade properly, actual anatomy and developing a more distinct artstyle. For now I'll just have fun and use this thread as a little art diary/gallery

thank you for the kind words It's a lot of trail and error right now! especially when drawing humans I don't really have a blueprint I stick to. It's something I'd still like to develop: a more coherent style. But then again art has no limits so why narrow myself down to one ^^

When drawing my cat the second time the cats from Disney's Aristocats were in my head and I think that's visible

Don’t say that you are so good! I used to draw a lot during 2020-2021 but I stopped for no reason.
Thanks to you I feel motivated to come back!

It has totally been a year of struggle in many ways, but I love your perseverance and the lovely things that have come from your blessed brain. You went HARD and made it through and you have such beautiful pieces as a result-- things nobody else in this world would've made in this exact beautiful way. Congrats, really, it's worth celebrating your art and thereby celebrating YOU!

Your growth may not be linear but your art continues to amaze and inspire, can’t wait to see what you come up with in 2025!
