Are amiibo villagers different from regular campsite/island villagers?

Ive seen some people buying villagers and stating that "amiibo versions are fine", so now im wondering if they are different in any way

There has been a glitch with characters who have been forced to move out with an Amiibo card (via the campsite). That's probably what people were referring to.

Otherwise, I heard that Amiibo characters never ask to leave, but that could be hearsay.

They changed that. They do ask to leave now. I've scanned in O'Hare and Lolly and they've both asked to leave once
