I’m not satisfied with my island

I feel like I need to do some major renovations to my island design. From the amazing photos I’ve seen online, it makes me feel jealous and that my island is basic. Whenever people come to visit my island, they always say it’s amazing. Personally, I don’t see it that way. Should I change my island? I kind of want to but also don’t as it would take weeks and lots of bells to do so. I feel really envious of people’s islands that look amazing. My island is also stuck at a 4 star rating, and no matter what I do that stupid dumb Isabelle refuses to give me 5 stars. I feel like changing my island would help.

I understand that looking at other people’s islands makes it soo easy to be jealous but it’s ok. I take ideas from others and try to incorporate them on my own island.

Also other people are not you. Other people have different ideas than you do and that’s ok. What matters is that you play and design the island the way you want and like.

If changing or resetting helps you then I would go for it.

I don’t want to reset my island as I’ve had it since August 2023 and getting all of my villagers back would be a pain. I do have a second less developed island on my big Nintendo Switch. I rarely play on that account but in the past I’ve been trying to get that island to 3 stars so I can unlock terraforming. I even placed all of my buildings on the beach so I can make the island like the ones online. What’s funny about the villagers I have on my island is that three of them live on my main island.

Lyman: On my main island, I had him move in via amiibo card. On my second island, he was my starter jock.

Ozzie: My personal favorite villager. On both of my islands, he was the lazy that I got for the island development quest. I found him both times on a mystery tour. For my first island, he showed up the second time cuz I found Marcel first but I thought he was creepy so I rejected him. On my second island, Ozzie was the first lazy to show up. It felt like it was fate and that Ozzie is following me to every Animal Crossing game.

Curt: On both islands, he was the first cranky to show up at the campsite. I think he’s gonna end up following me like Ozzie.

Update:

I’m completely redoing my upper cliff area of my island. I saved a lot of images of amazing builds online and using those for inspiration. It’ll take around two weeks, but It’ll be worth it.
