(obviously only americans can answer this question) ...because anyone that is elligable should. this election's stakes are high and i think it's very important that everyone gets out there and makes their voice heard! of course our candidates this year are... to put it nicely... terrible, but one vote makes all the difference. i'm not asking who you're voting for because i don't want this thread to become a warzone of fighting, but tell me if you're gonna be voting for the first time, second time, etc. among other things. i like seeing the young and old get involved but especially the youth, because now is the time that we can contribute to the future of this country. by the way, if you're interested check out this video from one of my favorite people ever on a topic that i think is really important in this coming election. also, she wrote an article on her immigration story she mentions in the video and you can check that out HERE. it was a tremendously brave thing she endured with her mother and definitely worth the read.

Yeah. I don't like Clinton all that much, but the guy on the left of the debate last night looked like a guy in a sitcom instead of a candidate for POTUS. There are also important down-ballot races to vote for.

This is the first year I've actually registered to vote. I don't feel like my vote would matter much, since it all comes down to the electoral college in the end.

I'm also taking bets on how long it'll be before some type of legislation goes into effect that no one can run for president without prior political experience.

I might. I like Trump's views on issues better than Hillary's, but I'm not sure if he will do a good job executing them because of his temper and lack of experience.

Although it does come down to the electoral college, your vote really does matter. The electors generally go along with the popular vote for each state, making it very important to get your vote in and help sway the electors one way or the other. Although some states (Nebraska and Maine) split the amount of votes that go to each candidate, the electoral college is still most definitely affected by popular vote and most states go by a "winner takes all" sort of policy. :)

Edit: forgot to add that I will definitely be voting lol.

i'm underage. if i were eligible to vote, darn right i will, i ain't letting the fate of my country get crushed because some dumb americans don't know evil when they see it.

I'm not American, but I seriously hope that every American votes. Even if they just vote to abstain, your votes are important and they do make a difference.

Please vote. I don't want to have to build a wall between the US and Canada :^)

Of course, I've been voting since 1992, won't stop now, but I've got a really bad feeling it's going to be worse than the 2000 one was....

I'm not in America but I say exactly the same as I did here when we had our referendum a few months back, if you don't vote you can't complain. I think it is so important to use your vote, especially when you look at who is running for presidency this time. I wish more young people would get involved in politics. Over here it was mostly the younger age people who wanted to stay in the EU but they didn't turn out to vote in the way the older groups did...and then complained about the result. I will be watching with interest how it all plays out,I know who I would vote for

I'm not American but people should vote if they are able to. Even if you don't really know who to vote for or even if you do vote for Trump then just do it and make use of it. I don't agree with Trump but I can't stop people from voting for him (I mean I'm not American anyway) because people should be allowed to have the freedom to choose. I know they're not ideal candidates but if you have a vote then use it.

cant vote yet, but if you can PLEASE PLEASE DO. Your vote matters plz do it for everyone.

Do it for the children :U

I am American, but I can't vote in these elections because I'm too young. If America somehow makes it to 2020 with whoever is chosen I will for sure be voting then, hopefully both candidates next election season are better than these ones :T

Idk. I don't wanna waste something so important, my vote, but I'm extremely non-political. To me, politics are such a confrontational thing, because of debates and what not. I hate confrontation, and I don't like debates too much either.

i'm seventeen still so i can't but i push others to vote. choose the lesser of two evils and pray she won't destroy our country

I absolutely am voting and so is every one of my friends. I push for everyone I know to vote.

I'm going to vote. I haven't decided whether I'll actually vote for Trump or if I'll just write in Bernie. I know writing Bernie will be a waste so I'll only do that if my state is heavily in favor of one candidate or the other.
