Mine started because of covid? I started playing an old game again and reconnected with my old best friend. We had always had feelings, but things got in the way. So, we decided to try it now that things are different than they were a few years ago.
We play games together every day, watch tv or movies, voice chat every night, text throughout the day. We even clean house together. We decide how much cleaning we’re each going to do and then do it at the same time and report on our progress. It makes it much less of a drag for me to know he’s cleaning too.
I'm not and have never been in a relationship but this pandemic has really affected my friendships. Like, I hardly talk to anyone anymore and I guess it effectively ended a lot of my friendships too. There are people who I used to talk to every day before the pandemic that I haven't spoken a word to in months.
Currently me and my bf are in a long distance relationship because of COVID, even though we're about an hour apart. I live with my family in total lockdown and he still needs to go out to work, so for now we just visit each other outside, six feet apart. Unfortunately I can't risk the health of my family to see him but it still sucks. I can't wait for the vaccine so I can give him hugs and kisses. I haven't done that since March of last year.
I’m currently not in a relationship. I do prefer to make friends and connect with people online however, because those people tend to be less judgmental. I’ve found it easier to find people with similar interests online though. You don’t really know what someone is into in person until you get to know them. Meeting someone online, you get an idea of their personality with how they communicate with others and by what is on their page. Unfortunately it’s hard to know if you really like a person until you talk to them. Things might change, you find out you don’t have anything in common, and nothing clicks. That’s just the way things work, I guess. I am not currently looking for a relationship as I am focusing my energy towards other things. I’m definitely open to finding really good friends, but even that’s rare. You have to be careful who you trust, especially online.
Well for me, during the week it's long distance but we do get to see each other on the weekends. We live about an hour's drive apart. So it's sort of long distance but not really.
We technically live in different counties and aren't supposed to be going to see each other (covid protocols and whatnot), but other than visiting each other neither of us goes anywhere and we both live in small towns with little to no covid counts.
if it wasn’t for COVID I don’t think I would have gotten as close to my girlfriend as I did (we started hanging out more because of the COVID-caused ACNH boom & developed a shared major interest in another game from there that helped with us getting together down the line months later), but we’ve been a LDR since the day we started so. it’s not a LDR because of COVID, but the circumstances surrounding 2020 played a part in creating the LDR.
