As the mayors, we barely get to choose anything.

Here is what we don't get to choose:
Where villagers place their house
Which villagers we're going to allow to move in
What events we're going to celebrate
When we'll allow the Bug-Off/ Fishing Tourney (I'd make it the Bug-Off every second Saturday, and the Fishing Tourney the Sunday before :3)
What shops we want
When we can upgrade shops
I want to choose my secretary (I'd make my Secretary Maple)
When the shops open/shut

You can add some stuff, but what do you think about it.

Nook is still behind everything, he just let you have some "freedom" from all the money you gave him in past games.

I didn't give flap to him in the past games, I didn't really care about my house much, it was just about the villagers and clothing (As always for mee)

All of those are very good ideas, though I think my secretary would be Skye because I like Wolves. <3

While a lot of those would be nice, real mayors can't do a lot of that either--like changing when national holidays/events are or choosing who lives in a town.

You technically do have some control over what shops you want (a few are optional to build) and upgrade--although, they may not be as soon as you'd like.
Similarly, shop hours can be adjusted by ordinances so... but a mayor doesn't really have control over all the shops in the city they govern either.

That would be a dictatorship. Imagine being rejected to live in a town because you're ugly. That's not nice.
Not being able to open your shoe shop because the mayor doesn't want shoes.. not nice either..
When shops open and close? What, do you not want the workers to sleep or something?

I feel like we need more freedom, but that would be too much freedom.

Isabelle*shouldn't*exist.

I think Isabelle is adorable, personally.

I don't know what she could do if they let people switch her out :/ Maybe the Secretary for Brewster's but... I doubt they'd change the villager professions.

ZanessaGaily - I don't think choosing house locations is too far off--someone can't just like...place their house in the middle of a highway for example. They have to purchase the area (and it has to be for sale) and/or purchase a house already built so to be, placing houses wouldn't be that odd--I do agree with the rest though.

I'd keep Isabella, maybe like a villager (GOD, HOW CUTE WOULD SHE BE AS A VILLAGER?) or something. I still think we should choose our secretary. I'm the Mayor, and who else is the president? Probably me, I own this country. Nintendo is the president, I think.
ANYWAY, we're the Mayor but we still have to 'unlock' stuff. Jennifer, you said that 'real' mayors can't do it. But, do real mayors have to buy their way to new shops? I didn't think so.

You're all forgetting this... It's a virtual game. I don't think they have feeling- the animals - but you're treating my opinion like a big WRONG. I want to have fun, and yes this game is fun but really... I'm only suggesting items they could add.

I mean, like the fortune teller shop, and stuff. I want to be able to choose the shops... not for free, of course. PWP. I'm just saying I want my town the way I want it, but I can't do that very often since I have to buy 550,000 bells worth of stock just for the outside of a shop to change and a few worthless items I haven't used, and probably will never.

I didn't mean to bold that part. Oops. But yeah, house location is something we should be able to control.

I would love it if I got to chose the villager's home plot placement. I don't have enough patience to do the whole reset method. Also I think we should be able to make events. Not holiday events but a simple town celebration. Everyday at least one of my villagers talk about how boring my town is and how we need more happening, more events at the plaza. It gets pretty old especially since we can't do anything about it.

That's how I thought of the event thing, the next event is pretty much the Fishing Tourney and Halloween, and that's a month away. I get so excited on those days, and I want a little celebration or something. Make my own festival, like how Marshal once said 'Wake-up prank on Marshal'. Not that but something fun! (At least it's Monique Birthday today!)

I don't know about it being a PWP. I'd find that pretty annoying, actually. I like how it is right now. I don't even think I'm gonna get the fortune telling shop. :/ Maybe in the future, but not now.

I hate Isabelle. Whenever I say that around my friends with New Leaf, they're always so shocked. I mostly don't like the part where Town Hall is closed because of a Fishing Tourney, a Bug-Off, or one particular full moon that appears every 20 days or so anyway. I understand what Isabelle is doing, but if she can't do the job then fine! I'll do it! Just let me work! I'm like that in real life too. If I set my mind to doing something, I want to do it uninterrupted.

That aside, I would love to be able to choose where houses go. It'd be nice if Isabelle would at least say "So-and-so wants to build a house but requires a permit to build. Please take Mr. Nook to the location of where you wish for their house to be. Yadda yadda." If Tortimer could plop sign posts everywhere in previous games, I don't see why we aren't able to.

But yeah, I just don't like Isabelle. She and Nook are more in charge than I am although I guess it makes sense. We mayors really have no power to do anything unless someone makes a suggestion. Then again, we were never supposed to be mayors to begin with.

I agree with all the people that hate Isabelle-She's annoying, won't shut up and won't let me put PWPs in the perfect place. You should definitely have the option to fire Isabelle.

There are ideas, not actual features they're going to add in the game in the future. I'm only saying. My imagination made this, and your trying to grab it and shake it around trying to make think it through.

These are ideas, and I only think of it as a suggestion. I want to know what you think, not why it won't work because Animal Crossing must be reality. Now, what do you think they should add, and if you have to say anything nice... keep in mind.
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Please don't explain to me why it won't happen, thank you.

If Isabelle wasn't there, every town would be like glitch town.
No, thank you.

Exactly! Bruce always suggests that one! Hugh and Phoebe are always talking about food and they always say that we should have a food eating contest event and Rosie said something about there should be a take pictures of Rosie day. Or something. If they suggest it we should be able to make it happen! The birthday parties are so cute.
