That depends.

In the workplace is where we seem to have the biggest differences, in Mexico they have a very egalitarian culture where the manager is simply a leader amongst equals. We view the Mexico as more formal, and perhaps they see Mexico as less so. I cannot be called objective in this case. For the most part they are interchangeable and a lot of Mexicans work in Mexico, and many Mexicans in Mexico. For the most part they adapt pretty quickly, and the few items they miss from their "home" cultures are easily available. When abroad Mexicans will often join together (on holiday or in retirement).

How best should one handle forum trolls and grow thicker skin?

I never thought I would be faced with this problem on TBT..... Its SUCH a friendly community! :(

It might just be from my experience dealing with 4Chan but I usually stray clear but even I get caught in the mix up sometimes.

To be honest, you can identify who is trolling and who is just trying to be funny right off the bat. Well, I can but again, 4Chan experience. Anyway, you can add them to your ignore list if they truly bother you and you don't want to be associated with them at all because you don't think they can change. My arguments on here were from day one...first hour of joining really. I got into an argument about something. I eventually added them to my ignore list but took them off a day later. It's not worth the hassle to fight so I just apologized to them first. Taking the first step, I guess. It's not fun admitting you were wrong but I did that with someone else. I got into an argument about GracieGrace. They wanted a lot of TBT and I still didn't understand what TBT was so I was confused or something. I said a shirt was Gracie but it wasn't so I just admitted I was wrong (WOWZA!) and apologized.

So, yeah. You can usually tell who's cool or not. This forum is public though so don't be surprised if someone butts in from time to time. If they bother your threads, just make a blog instead or add them to ignore. If you think you can patch things up, just apologize first. People will always be stubborn.

But if they are trolling, just go along with it or ignore them.
