Ok so I just learned that this was a thing today and I got so excited because I've been experiencing this my whole life but just thought I was really weird. For those of you who don't know, ASMR is "a euphoric experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation." It is caused by certain triggers, such as being touched in a certain way (e.g. getting a massage) or hearing a certain sound (e.g. whispering)

Does anyone else experience this? If so, do you have any type of synesthesia? I'm curious to see if the two are connected. I do have synesthesia as I associate certain musical pitches with colours.

I used to listen to ASMR videos a lot, for my astral projection attempts, but they actually made me feel less relaxed.

I've experienced this but I honestly don't really like YouTube channels dedicated to ASMR. It's hard for me to be relaxed by a lot of the people who make those videos for some reason.

I get it from those head massagers but those ASMR videos creep me out and make me feel uncomfortable .~.

i love asmr videos. i feel like i don't get the tingle in a sense, but sometimes watching them relaxes or excites me depending on what it is

The only ASMR I don't find extremely creepy and actually relaxing is done by this one YouTube channel I watch called Maqaroon. When she has an ASMR video she's just crafting and she doesn't say anything which is the problem for me with almost all ASMR channels, I find the whispering really disturbing.

I like the Asmr videos but the tingling in my lower spine from them stops me from relaxing.

The ASMR videos are... interesting. They're definitely cool to listen to but I think it's gotten so popular to a point where people will literally turn anything into another cash grab asmr video :s

they make me feel pretty uncomfortable, not my kind of videos

Oh, it's called ASMR, i thought they were just goosebumps. This usually happens with me when someone scratches a chalkboard, a wall, or paper. But yeah, these feelings happen to me alot.
