I found myself at Bamboo/Mystery Island tonight. I was under prepared, but I made it work. So here are my findings. BTW it was not raining, as the rain would make things 10 X's easier!!
Yes remove anything that bugs can land on. Shake off the coconuts, chop the tree, then eat the fruit to dig up the stump. Anything that held up space I dumped on the beach area. Also you just need to pick the flowers, no need to dig those up. (Although I picked them, and then dug em on and the beach they went) Pick the weeds drop those off on the beach as well. My axe broke so I was unable to clear all bamboo. But, I never tried to remove the whole bamboo, left the stalk when chopping them down. Now, be prepared, as you run around the flat rocks to clear the wharf roaches, sometimes those venomous things play trickery one you. The best thing I found when creeping around was best use my areal camera view, because I still had some full sized bamboo in the way. (start chopping those down from the inside out, in case you get stuck like me with no axe., you can only buy a flimsy axe.) During your hunt, you will see some land jumping insects. Be careful clearing those away as that flurried ugly thing can be lurking. They will spawn along with those furry tarantulas! Dont forget to get smash your rocks as well.
Good Luck and Happy Hunting~ May the Bells be be plentiful!
