so, to get terraforming, you gotta get 3 stars, and u cant do that without architecture on ur island...how would one save money (meaning not having to destroy and buy a new thing) without having 3 stars
You don’t need much money to get to 3 stars. Just populate your island (I’m not sure how many is required for 3 stars if it’s 8 villagers or a full 10) make sure you have lots of furniture and flowers and fences outside (most don’t need to be bought they can be crafted or bought with nook miles).
Personally, I find it unrealistic to not want to change and move things around. I would advise not to worry about it. You can always make more bells to move things around later.
Try using NMT to get crafting items for decorating, I do believe you have to have 10 villagers to get three stars, but when I got 3 stars, I had a shop, resident services, able sisters and 10 villagers
chances are you will at some point feel a need to move things around on your island, but to get to three stars in the short term - the key is just to have a lot of things everywhere. Place a variety of furniture around your island, plant trees and flowers, and definitely place some fences! I remember those being good for bumping up your star rating. I can't remember if paths have an impact or not so that may be worth a try.
well you need at least 8 villagers on your island, lots of fences, flowers and trees. then you obviously also need lots of items that you place outside, doesn't really matter what or where you put it. when i tried getting 3 stars as soon as possible, i found having a 9th villager move in to be what got my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. but i also threw a whole lot of random fences around, so maybe that was the deciding factor LOL
Get Nook's Cranny upgraded and the Able Sisters' shop upgraded, if you haven't already
Max out your villagers to 10
Plant flowers, trees, and bushes. With flowers, though, they come with them propagating and future you having to spend quite some time to clean them up.
Decorate with both craftable and orderable furniture
Pick up any dropped items or materials that drop after you have shaken a tree or hit a rock, etc.
Depending on your playstyle, you can opt to only have the one bridge on your island that Tom Nook makes you put down to progress the story. If you haven't bought the tool ring from the Nook Stop machine already with Nook Miles, I would highly recommend buying it, as you would be switching between the vaulting pole and ladder quite a bit.
All you need to do to get 3 stars is to plant enough flowers all over your island and to make bells and save bells is to have different fruit on your island and sell them at Nooks Cranny to get a lot of bells. I know most people try for the Stalk Market but becareful because if you buy turnips they will go bad in a week if you don't sell. So I recommend going to islands that have a higher price to sell turnips to get a lot more bells to save to move buildings when terraforming.
There are 2 categories to fulfill when getting a good town rating. I believe these are developmental and environmental. Planting a bunch of flowers will help with the environmental requirement, but without a high development rating, you will fall short of 3-stars. Having 10 villagers though may be enough for that.
