Let me post how I did the villager trick that got me Marshal.

Requirements:
TTing, 8 villagers, all personalities save the one you want (or make sure you don't have the smug villager the longest)

Turn off WiFi/don't go to other villages. (Prevents Wi-Fi move ins)

OK now for the heavy lifting.
1) Move your 9th villager successfully. If boxing day eg. Nov 5 TT to the 6th thus moving him out.
2) Save and quit on Nov 6
3) Change your time to Nov 7 5:58 am
4) Wait 2 min till your town resets
5) Make new char *IMPORTANT* if you accidentally load your main file you might get boned hard with a move in you don't want
6) Check for plots and your campsite for the desired villager. At this point, if the plot isn't a smug... chances are you did it wrong if you have multiple personalities missing.
7) No plots or villager isn't your dreamie? Close game and go to step 5. *IMPORTANT*check every corner of your town for plots.
8) Once Marshal plots in, plot your own home with the new chat. save and enjoy.

You can use this trick to get most of the more expensive villagers if you can juggle your personalities well.

Once? Try at least 40+ resets to get the right villager x_x

Same thing applies with house placement. I literally lost track of how many times I had to reset to get Willow's house in the right place. If you get lucky, it'll take a few tries. In general, it's gonna take a while. :/

Just read through the whole thread. That's insane, I've never heard of a scammer actually messaging the victim to gloat about it, and then the victim being happy about the message. Mind = blown

I'm genuinely confused why you'd be happy about them saying "lol i needed your villager but i can't help you now", uhm yes they can help you: they could've apologized and given you at least SOMETHING to compensate you.
And to an extent I doubt that message was from the real scammer, it was an anon after all.

Haha yeah! I was thinking the same thing. She was mad at the beginning, but now; I guess she calmed down.

Never trade with someone who is new with no Wifi Rating.
But has anyone else noticed that she is has no Wifi Rating too?

Yeah, I am a bad person and a conspirator. XD

I was mad at first, but then realized that being mad wont help me get Marshal. Im just glad the person didnt just trade off Bob but it was an in my face thing like I have bob youll Never get him back from me, and you wont get your dreamie Marshal.

I agree. Ill just ask them to provide proof that they have that villager first. In a way this was kind of my fault for being so unaware.

Torlanova I really feel for you it must be so horrible being scammed out of a villager. But just a bit of friendly advice - it may be worth getting a few simple trades or even visits done so you get some wifi ratings, that way other people won't feel too nervous when trading villagers with you too c: I wish you all the best of luck, and I'll keep an eye out for any Marshals for you xx

Did you leave them wifi ratings? People are more apt to leave them for you if you leave them for them. And they get notified when someone does.
