Borrow Someone's Wetsuit?

I've been wanting to do some diving in my own town to try to work on filling my encyclopedia. I've been looking at the island for a wetsuit, but for the past few days they just haven't had one for sale. Could I potentially borrow someone's until the island offers one for me to get? Thanks!
