obvi there's situations where tap water is NOT potable, so in that case, do you opt for buying single use water bottles still or the large water 5 gallon+ refillable jugs?

Bottled water if I go to someone’s house who lives in the city but tap water if it’s in the country because no chemicals making it taste weird. Fridge water is the best tho

Tap water all the way for sure. I don't actually like the taste of bottled water at all, I find it really mineral-y and it doesn't sit right on my tongue. Here in my certain location in the UK there is also quite a lot of fluoride in the water, which helps keep my teeth very strong and healthy. My teeth are strong af now and even the dentist has praised them, so I definitely recommend at least mixing in some tap water (depending on your location) or even using a couple fluoride drops every now and then. Although one side affect is that, because I drink an insane amount of tap water every day, I actually got fluoridation (google it) on one of my teeth. But all in all, I'm still gonna keep drinking tap water over fancy bottled water anyday, and if I need to travel then I just fill up a big hydroflask full of it. My dream is to get one of those fridges that dispense fresh ice cold water though, will probably be one of my main purchases i'll shell out for when I move out lmao.

I drink tap water but I understand that not everyone's tap water is the best quality. I find bottled water sometimes tastes like the bottle depending on the brand.

yea i wonder if the taste is at all associated with the packaging.

Tap water to be honest, although sometimes I’ll use a reusable bottle if it’s easy enough to clean it out and keep using it.

sounds fake but i can taste the difference between bottled and tap water and i really don't like the latter. not that i drink water much anyway lmao. if i do, it's from a one-use plastic water bottle -- bad for the environment, yes, but my mum does the shopping not me so it's not really something i can control. granted my lucozade bottles aren't any better but i can't exactly get it any other way yet so rip.

I used to live in a place where the tap water was of questionable quality, and tasted bad. I remember there was a fundraising effort at our uni to raise money towards funding lab research of the tap water in town, because there were allegations that the pesticide level in the water supply was higher than the allowable rate. Well, turns out, they were right, because lab results showed that every sample collected from volunteers showed glyphosate.

After that, I tried to stay away from tap water as much as possible. I either used my Brita filter or bought the huge 1 litre bottles of Evian water from the grocery store.

The city still claimed it was potable, and I guess it technically was... I just didn't trust the water in that town ever again.

I'm for tap water and would avoid drinking from bottled water at all costs. There's something about the taste of water from there that tastes a little weird, and I don't like that.

I used to love our trap water growing up because we had a good well. I'm on town water now, which I don't like as much, so I have a water bottle and fill it from a larger bottle.

Tap water I have a big bottle that I fill up and take everywhere with me. I’ve drunk hot water that’s been sitting in my car rather than buy bottled water.

Tap water that's been filtered and boiled (fortunate to have access to clean drinking water). I avoid drinking bottled water at all costs -- not only for the environment but I also find the taste off.

I have a good water supply so I drink tap water. I also have 1L and a 1.5L reusable bottles that I can fill up to take with me. If I'm at like an event or something, I'll drink single-serve bottled water (sorry mother earth, even before rona, I'm not putting my mouth anywhere near a public water fountain)
