• Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.

brand new art spotted in the wild! (STAIRS???)

This is my worry, because I'd greatly prefer to live north where the pines are. :( My thought is this: maybe your tent is move-able? And maybe you don't have to end up putting your house wherever it is that you place your tent? And you can stay in it for a longer amount of time if you want to clear out or gain access (*craft something to give you access) to the other "locked" areas of the island and place your permanent house there. If that's the case I'll wait as long as it takes to get up there, lol! And I really hope that is how it'll work! Because that would really suck. :(

I was thinking that might be the case. Moveable tents would kind of solve the problem, I just wonder how long it would take the access all the areas?
Not only do we need a pole to cross the river but stairs to get to get to the higher parts of town?

Yeah that's what sucks! It really seems like it'll be quite a while before we'd be able to build up or craft something like stairs that could lead up to another level of land. Hopefully not too long though... And maybe you can access it with the pole too? Though I really don't care for that idea. That'd just feel awkward. Hopefully, like with shovels and stuff, you can craft a "wood" version of the stairs that might not take too long to obtain ability for and then you can maybe replace it in the future? Agh I don't know!

It could be an upgrade feature that Nook gives us. Maybe he'll ask if we want an elevated land around our house, and the next day our house will magically be on an elevated land. Maybe we can upgrade the size around it as well, although it would "destroy" trees or whatever we built below it if it overlaps that area, kinda like how PWPs work? The stair types could be a customisation option at the new Nook homes equivalent as well!

Now that you mention it, it does look like the stairs are embedded into the cliff, and not just built against it. Maybe we will be able to edit the terrain in some capacity. But what if your house is built closer to the beach, if you decide to raise the terrain around your home, wouldn’t that obscure the view of anything behind the plateau?

Or maybe a ladder, just 2 long sticks and a few rungs, lol.

oh my gooood those fences in the back!! The stairs look so good, I hope that animals actually have these life-like animations lol.

They look really good.

Ramps are more natural, but the stairs look better.

This is my hope. I'd love to have the camping on the beach experience then finally settle down further inland.

I imagine the ability to build houses will take a while to unlock... got to build up the basic infrastructure first. At least that's my hope - I want each step of the journey to take a while so you can really appreciate the progression.

I haven't played AC in years, so I didn't even realize that stairs are such a revolutionary concept for this series! It's fascinating how much can change by some simple additions! Am I the only one who is excited at the idea of Villagers (and possibly, Players!) drinking tea/coffee? One of the things I loved about New Leaf was Brewster's coffee, as weird as that sounds! It was just a nice ambiance thing, I guess? x3

Wow I'm honestly so excited for this game. It looks awesome! Love the stairs

That’s a good point, I just double checked one of the NH map and there doesn’t appear to be any indication of a ramp to access the elevated part of the map. Does that mean we won’t have access to the 2nd level of the map until we unlock the stair crafting recipe or PWP (if those are still a thing)? Will we not be able to plot our homes on the 2nd level? So many questions, lol.

I hadn't really thought about this before. I really hope not. I plan to reset until I get a map with a river island which have always been at the southern part of town, but still, it would suck to be limited with where to put our houses.

This fanbase: HOLY **** STAIRS

I'm wondering if we're allowed to play with the tiers as in "make our own tiers" full-on-terraforming
