Brand new villagers or nah?

I don't care about getting any new species, but I would like to see new villagers from existing species. Of course, bringing back the GC/e+ exclusives would be great as well, but although there are some I'd love, I admittedly don't care for most of them, so I'd like some new cute ones to be added alongside bringing those back (also, out of all the removed villagers that were brought back in NL (pre-WA), the only one I really liked was Cheri, so I don't have faith in Nintendo bringing back my favourites if they do make some villagers return). The villagers are one of the things I like most about the games, and in the days leading up to the NL release, looking at the new villagers as they were seen for the first time was my favourite part of the wait. I've known of the same villagers for years now and I really want some new faces to make things interesting.

Personally, I think New Horizons will introduce some new villagers, as we've gotten some in every mainline game so far, but I doubt there will be as many as the 100 new ones we got in NL - maybe 10 or 20 new villagers would be my estimate.

I want all of the old villagers back. Of course new ones would be great too, even just a small number of a new species or something, but I would still rather have all of the old villagers. I feel like with everything we've seen the switch do it's definitely possible.

It would be cool if they showed a clip or a direct and they just put in all new characters to blow our minds with it.

i really wish they would bring in new villagers, and especially new species!! i'm hoping for beaver villagers, and i think some other fun ones to include would be lemurs, hyenas, skunks, and juuust maybe? snails!

Not as villagers, as a catchable insect. It'd be kind of strange having both I think. How come a no?...…….hmmmmm…...just don't like Snails; horrible slimy things lol

It would be nice for there to be new characters just so people might get more inspiration for their themes but I'm fine without there being any new ones

If anything I'm sure there will be tropical themed villagers added like a toucan or lemur or something.

I really want a new species or just a few new ones to check out. The species seems unlikely though, as I think they would have used it in marketing earlier. I agree that oldies should at least return.

I think the oldies (including the japanese specific e+ characters) should all come back and some new ones! We only have about 3 octopi right now lol and I'd love to see way more.

New villagers or old villagers I'd be happy with!
Annalise the horse is one of my favourite villagers and she was one who returned in NL after not being in the game since the GameCube games.
So it would be nice to have old villagers return, and perhaps see some new faces too.

I'm not fussed if we don't get new villagers, but I really hope Nintendo bring back the GCN and e+ villagers, as well as every villager in the rest of the series. It'd make sense for them to bring at least every villager back from NL, as there's the amiibo cards to think about.
(And I swear if they don't work with the new game! )

The amiibo cards not working is something I'm worried about, hope it works the same way or similar to the DS, as I don't have the amiibo reader, I just put my card on the ds screen. So fingers crossed the cards will still work for NH!

As much as I would love to see bat villagers becoming a thing here, I kinda start to doubt that there will be any new species or even brand new villagers in general in this game. I just hope at this point that Nintendo gonna add more villagers from the previous titles (especially the e+ ones), as I would love to see them finally getting more attention.

I would love to get certain villager personalities that certain species do not have yet (e.g. lazy kangaroo, peppy goat, smug cat, etc.)

However, I think we should first focus on getting the already-existing villagers in, and seeing if we can get new ones in. While it is important to have new villagers to meet and grow memories with, I do think it's more important to get the already existing ones in first. We already love these villagers! <333
