You have to buy coffee, and talk to him at the side of the counter with a gyroid in your invo.

He just says "........Coo,coo"

try going outside, then back in and talking to him over the counter. Not sitting down.

Oh yeah, and I think you have to actually get to know him good. He won't notice anything unless you go for coffee like every day.
