Pokémon Brilliant diamond and Shining pearl: Anyone going to play?

I'm getting Brilliant Diamond for these two reasons:

1: My first mainline Pokemon game was Pearl, my brother got Diamond, and would love a switcheroo of versions.

2: I want an early dark type Pokemon, which is Stunky as it's only available in Diamond in case I can't get Sneasel early thanks to the new underground feature.

i'm getting shining pearl because my preorder was a birthday present, but i can't say i'm not getting cold feet towards the idea of the games, especially towards the end now that we've got all the info we need about them from leaks & datamines. most of all i'm just really disappointed that these are ultimately remasters instead of remakes because they'd rather focus on Legends in-house. i'm sure i'll have fun when i go through it it's just, i'm sure i'd have more fun going through Platinum again in the end 😅

I preordered both last month and I’m excited to get them since they’re the first games I got once I had gotten my hands on my first DS. I’ve been considering doing a Nuzlocke for one of them and playing the other one normally, so let’s see what happens with that.

I'll be getting Shining Pearl, because I need many slowpoke as soon as possible (and also pearls are stunning).

I was just re-reading the exclusives list though, and saw mawile is Diamond exclusive, which is a little sad, because Mawile has been in my Sword lineup since I got him! Still, it's not like I won't have access to a mawile, it'll just take a bit! 😊

I don't have that much time to play ACNH/Switch, so it's going to be interesting to see which game I prioritise. 😊

I am getting Pearl I love the colour pink my brothers are getting the other one so we can trade Pokémon

I will trade you a Mawile for a Slowpoke 🤭

I do agree, but on the other side. It will be nice to revisit the place with updated graphics. The chibi style, I don't even dislike it that much.

I'm getting Shining Pearl, I played Pearl and also Platinum as a kid (I still have my copy of platinum)

If you wanna trade exclusives feel free to hit me up!

I'm just not feeling it for $60. I feel like it's going to be like Let's Go! or Omega Ruby for me where I play through it once and that's it. Not to say the game will be bad, but I don't think it's going to hold me nearly as long as Pokemon Sword has and still is.

I'm going to play both versions. I'll choose Turtwig in Brilliant Diamond and Piplup in Shining Pearl.

I will wait and see what the people online will saying about the games once they are out as well as checking out some Let's Plays before I decide if I'm going to buy one of the versions or not. It's been years since I played a main Pokemon game, pretty much lost my interest in playing after Sun and Moon came out since I didn't enjoy them as much as I hoped. Also skipped Sword & Shield since Gen 8 couldn't get my hype up after all. Gen 4 is actually one of my favorites and also the Generation where I became a Pokemon fan in general, so it is a bit tempting to play the remake. But I like I said I will wait for now, so far I would say I would give it a chance. If I decide to go and play it, I would probably buy Brilliant Diamond then since Diamond was back then my first version.

So I tried this game without bying it, and I'm disappointed. It's the same game from 16 years ago, I mean literally the same. So you been charged 60 bucks simply for new graphics. Which is ridiculous. The graphics are not that great anyways. This game is made to simply squeeze some money from nostalgic players, like I am. But I won't buy it. Better replay platinum. Low effort game for me, sadly :(

First played pearl many years ago, so I'm playing brilliant diamond right now. I'd like to see improvements with the poffin spinning , ideally spinning using touchscreen, my thumb sticks aren't going to last five minutes. I've been avoiding it

I bought Shining Pearl, because I played Pearl. Maybe, I thought Palkia's figure is cooler than Dialga's one at that time. My sister bought Brilliant Diamond. So I can play both versions. And we trade each pokémon.

I decided to play it because I watched a lets play and it looked like fun. I never really finished any 4th gen main game, so this is a good opportunity.
