Resident Night Mare
So, yesterday was sort of a holiday in town - the Bug-off. Isabelle thought it was a holiday, anyway, since she wouldn't let me do any work. I didn't have terribly long to compete, since I was... called out of town for most of the day. Yep, that's what I tell the villagers. Anyway, I only had an hour or so, but luck must have been on my side. I caught a couple of Birdwings, a Peacock, and a quick jaunt over to the island netted me a few Saw Beetles. Netted. Get it? Bwahahahaha!
*ahem*
I was a little disappointed in the results on the Peacock Butterfly; should have saved it for donation to the Museum, but one of my Birdwings was good enough to get me first place! It was close, though. I won with 98 points and Rocket came in 2nd with another Birdwing at 92 points. I'll have to be more careful of him in future competitions. In addition to the trophy, I received an interesting Cicada Stereo.
After selling off some other items, I ran over to Main Street to donate a Jewel Beetle and pay down some of my loan (although I did pop into Nook's Homes and splurged on the Fairy Tale Roof because... well, because it's pretty!) and I saw a big blue tarp and heard hammering going on between Nookling's and Able Sisters. Looks like I'm getting a Gardening Shop! I can't wait, because although I've been playing around with some flowers already, it'll be nice to have more variety for sale to make some pretty hybrids.
I'm looking forward to seeing more businesses open up in town.
Oh, and the trees I planted from island fruit are doing nicely. I should have bananas, lemons, lychees, and durians producing in town, along with our native cherries and the apples Isabelle gave me. Once I get an axe, I'll start organizing them into groves.
