hey, so i invited a villager to move in from another island and skipped a day ahead to see if they'd move in, now i'm seeing this:

and it's been stuck like that.

Don't think that's going to be recoverable. Your save file is probably ruined. You could contact Nintendo Support but it won't do much.

Did you craft and place the furniture there for the villager?

seems a bunch of people are having this problem too. let me know if there's anything to do

That's really unfortunate.
Do you have the physical copy or the digital download?
I wonder what could be causing this.

digital! what i'm noticing is that it's affected by time travel which... seems kinda odd especially when two islands have different timezones essentially. i've also considered maybe they need to move out (as in, their house is gone) from their old island before i tt'd.

what happens if you try to talk to tom nook and see if he can destroy that unused terrain? is that even possible?

Sorry what do you mean that the two islands are in different timezones?

the island where the villager came from was in nighttime when i invited him to my town, which was still in the afternoon. if the other island passes midnight it'd be a new day for them whereas mine would still be in the same day. so i'm not sure at which point counts as a "reset" or a "new day" wherein this villager moves into mine.

i tried and i can't even select the lot because it doesn't even show it as a new resident... just a "sold" lot and nothing i can do with it :(

Have you tried waiting a full day cycle without time traveling to see if it resolves this? This seems pretty game breaking if the plot is stuck there forever. Hopefully you find a solution for this.

not yet, but i'm going to today. kinda scared me from time traveling even if i just jump a day at a time. game breaking for sure, and a bunch of people are experiencing it as well, but we can't seem to find a solution unless Nintendo patches it up.

same thing is happening to me. hopefully if enough people are vocal about it Nintendo will release a patch. I don't want to reset my game, ive already worked super hard on it so I'm gonna wait it out a little while

Did you also time travel?
If that's the case, then it's probably something that confuses the game when the dates change.

this just happened to me too with a dreamie moving in. ;;
i really hope it gets fixed, not sure what to do now.

Did you TT?
I'm only asking as I think there's some confusion with the game's clock that's causing this.
