Did you TT?
I'm only asking as I think there's some confusion with the game's clock that's causing this.
yes i did, and now i am really regretting it..
i would hate to have to reset my game because of this.

To clarify, is this happening to the 10th villager for everyone, or any villager after the 6th villager? Maybe that information would be helpful to have too.

Adding on, does it seem to be related to villager adoption in particular? If so people should be cautious of adopting a villager for the time being.
So a villager adopted from someone else or one that was move on with an amiibo?for me, yes to both. it was my 10th villager and one that i adopted.
it was a villager that was moving out from another player's island.
i adopted them into my town, and it seemed fine the day i got her. then i traveled to the day she was supposed to move in and the name went blank and it bugged out. ;;
hi all!! i'm crawling out of discord and into this ancient account of mine to share a fix that was discovered!
well... it's less of a fix and more of a reversion. and you won't have the villager you tried to have move in, in the end
but at least it frees up the plot, i guess. you end up with 2 empty plots
this is copy-pasted from ACNH server!!
SOLUTION TO VILLAGER PLOT BUG
STEPS
1. Ensure you have 1 bugged plot (Lets say this belonged to Apollo) and 1 plot open to any resident (If you cannot place a plot you will need to get another villager to move out, this can be done quicker with Time Travel)
2. Go on an ISLAND TOUR (Randomly moving villagers does not fix, tested)
3. Find a villager on the island and invite him to your island (Lets say its Wolfgang). I'm unsure of the frequency/rarity of villagers on island, perhaps other means of villagers moving in such as amiibo work but this has not been tested
4. At this point Wolfgang will now move to your island and occupy the BUGGED plot, however his house will look like APOLLO'S house
5. In addition to this another house will appear in your town this one looking like WOLFGANG'S house. This house will not be enterable and upon trying to enter you will be told WOLFGANG is out
6. If you were to check your map it would look like this
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/692001316779720714/692081710287814656/image0.jpg
7. Now you need to get *WOLFGANG (i.e the newest villager) to move out. This can be done with time travel quicker and do not worry, villagers will not move out without you being told by them themselves.
8. You will need to check that he is going to move out by visiting him, he will either ping you with a "!" and run towards you or will have a bubble above his head and a sad expression.
9. Upon WOLFGANG moving out both houses will disappear leaving 2 empty plots.
I STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PREVENT THIS GLITCH FROM HAPPENING OR WHAT CAUSES IT, HOWEVER WE DO NOW HAVE A MEANS OF REVERTING IT

Thanks for the heads up!! This hasn't happened toe (only have 5 villagers atm) but now I'm paranoid it will...
Does Nintendo have a bug reporting service?
