I received a warning for bumping Lassy's Median Price Guide in the TBT Marketplace.

There has been statements made from mods and admins that as long as you're not bumping your thread every 5 minutes, that it's fine.

So is this now a new rule that bumping a thread = spam?

:]

It's just common sense, I'm afraid.

When a thread consists of two pages of just people posting "bump" repeatedly, it is clearly spam. There is no need for a thread to be bumped that often, unless the reason for your thread has yet to be resolved. For example, an item sale.

If it's just a case of you wishing to keep the thread readily available for your personal use, your browser has a "favourites" or "bookmarks" functionality in which you can add these spaces on the web right into your own personal supply of pages!

Your warning was given due to a ruling made by myself earlier in the thread about the situation with bumping. Whether you agreed to it or not, a direct violation of a ruling made by a moderator will obviously result in a personal warning being applied to your account.

So are you saying, from now whoever bumps that thread will receive an infraction? And if not, when is it safe to bump?

Unless somebody can give me a reason why this thread doesn't have to apply to the post quality rules that we have everywhere else on the website, I'm saying they will receive a warning. Infractions and warnings are different.

Wait why can't she bump it herself? It's just spam even if it is on the second or third page people will still see it.

I'm not really aware of the situation but making a public thread to complain isn't really going to help matters either. Going to go ahead and close it before it inevitably needs to be closed.

If you're bumping for the sake of just bumping, once every two hours is safe. If someone comes in with a request or conversation--etc it's not considered a bump. That being said spam is still not really tolerated.
