Is there someone who actually bought the start a group option and what are the perks of buying one...is it just starting a club..does it have special features the buyer can do?

I don't actually own a group for myself so I can't say anything for certain, but I worked together with Miharu on one so I'm just making these assumptions from that experience. A lot of the actions the owner of a group can do are similar to everything you can moderate on your own blog posts: which posts/images to remove by other members, editing threads, changing the groups image/bio, etc.

I think the biggest "perk" of owning a group is choosing between making the group open to all members or making it "invite only," which essentially similar to a friend request; and the biggest difference between a group and a blog is the ability to add a group image gallery, and the ability to make threads, kinda like your own sub-forum.

are you given in forum tools that distinguishes you as part of that group? Is it the same that appears on the left hand side of some members o their group affiliation?

As someone with it, it sucks.

I guess the only reason to have one is if you want to feel like you're exclusive in some way, but I think collectibles fill that void a bit better. You basically have the moderation tools of a post for your group, it's really not great. Example being that I can't change my own group's name so I'm stuck with a 4k (is now 40k right?) that I don't like. I'm fairly certain that groups cost as much as they do to dissuade you from getting one.

oh I thought there will be special mod tools or privileges since it is so costly. So you bought it at 4k? isn't that at a discount?

You can make the group invite only, or make it so you have to approve someone to let them into the group, or just let it be public. Beyond that, you can delete posts that others make inside your group. Is that what you're looking for? Yes, the groups used to be much less a while ago like people have said.
