Can non-amiibo campers choose who to replace?

I don't have a full village yet, but I just want peace of mind.

I've read that amiibo villagers can replace any villager of your choosing. How about the ordinary campers? Do they also give you an option or do they kick out random villagers the follow day?

I heard that they pick one person to replace, and you can't change it. So, you have to pick between the villager that they picked or the camper.

Not 100% sure, though.

If that's the case, then it all comes down to luck. If this camper is a dreamy, and s/he happens to choose the other dreamy to kick out, that would be a dilemma...
